Q: How much should it cost to replace the spark plugs on 2002 Cadillac DTS?
I was quoted $400 from Germain Cadillac. They told me this is the reason my car is idling rough and vibrating at high speeds, oh and the biggie, wasting fuel! I just wanted to see $400 is reasonable or am I paying that since its a Cadillac dealership?
A: Spark plugs are as cheap as $2 each but even if you pay 5 dollars for each that’s $30-40…your getting ripped off

is dts short for deville, or are they completely different models?
A: Yes it is the same, the DTS was a different trim level starting out. It stands for Deville Touring Series. Cadillac did thhat to most of their line during the 90’s and early 2000’s. The STS and CTS are respectively the Seville and Catera. HTH

Q: How do I disengage the seat belt warning light on a 2006 Cadillac DTS?
There is no owner’s manual.
A: If there is a problem, go to the dealer and get it fixed. It should still be under warranty.
If you are not wearing your seat belt and the light annoys you, that is another story.
My cousin was killed in a crash because he chose not to wear a belt in the backseat. His friends told him he should but he didn’t. He was thrown from the vehicle and everyone else survived with minor or no injuries.
I hope this doesn’t happen to you.

A: DRL’s are optional equipment so they can be disabled if you want, most GM products if you click the e-brake just enough to turn on the brake light without actually activating the brakes will disable the DRL’s but I think your cadillac releases the e-brake automatically whenever you are in gear so that won’t help you, get out your owners manual and look through the sues and relay pages the DRL’s usually have a fuse and a relay that operate only them find and remove either of those items and you are good to go, just check for proper operation of the rest of your lights before you drive it again

A: it very esy to do so first thing u will need is a wiring harness look it up they run 15-75 $ depending on ur type of car u will also need a 2din deck mount

Q: I have an oil leak on my 2003 Cadillac DTS. How much will is cost to fix this leak?
Is it considered a major problem? I’m really concerned because I just bought the car about 3 months ago.
A: This is one of those questions that the answer will seriously vary. The leak source can be anything from an oil filter or plug not being put on tight enough to an oil pressure sensor being broke, an oil pan gasket needing replacing, crankshaft seal or rear main seal needing replaced. Each of these can be done at home for under $50 I’d like to say. If it’s not something you can access from the outside of the engine easily prepare for the price to rise as most shops charge by the hour. Make sure it is a reputable shop as well as no one likes to hear “Well we couldn’t find the source of the leak through the checks we performed but here’s this $200 bill”. If possible and finance and budget allow try to take it to your nearest Cadillac dealer as they should have enough experience and knowledge of the car to troubleshoot it correctly the first time around and hopefully not have you keep having to spend a great deal of money through repeatedly returning.

A: It depends on what year the cadillac is. It would either be a Northstar engine of 4.6 or 4.4 litres displacement or an aluminum block iron head 4100/4500/4900. This info goes back to about 1990. Prior to that there were other options for the Deville.

I have a beautiful 1999 Cadillac Deville de’Elegance with a blown engine.
A: i think the ‘05 engine swap would create the fewest issues in the change over as they are more closely related age wise,the computer should be changed over also,you didn’t state which engine the ‘99 has in it now,but if it’s a V8 the transition will be easier as motor mounts and other connection points will come closer to mating. this is not a 3 hour job for you and a buddy on saturday morning,get a mechanic qualified to perform the task,good luck.
