I know that this is a very strange idea, but I have been looking at the newest style FWD DTS and the FWD Impalla SS, and I was thinking it might be a cool idea to make a “DTS-V” if minimal work was involved.
A: In theory I guess it’d work but good luck trying to get that FWD trans to handle even more power. Plus, big power + FWD= crap traction.

I have a 2002 land rover and a 2008 cadillac DTS and im looking to get a new winter vehicle and i really like the cadillac ESV. Ive had so many problems with my land rover but it was very good in the winter. How will the cadillac stand up to it in the snow? Whats your opinion on the cadillac escalade ESV? Or would a benz G-500 be better?
A: The Cadillac is very good in the winter.

A: Key Fob Auto Learn
This procedure will first erase all known key fobs. The procedure will then program a single or multiple key fobs. Method 3 is a series of three 10-minute key cycles, for a total of 30 minutes. This procedure requires that you have a replacement key fob and the vehicle mechanical key.
Important: All previously programmed key fobs will be erased upon completion of the 30-minute programming procedure. The order in which the key fobs are programmed will determine its numbering position within the RCDLR memory. The first key fob programmed will be key fob #1, and the second key fob programmed will be key fob #2. The number stamped on the key fob case is for reference only: #2 can be programmed as #1.
Do not place any known good key fobs in the vicinity of the vehicle when programming.
The vehicle must be OFF.
Place the replacement key fob in the console pocket with the buttons facing forward.
Insert the vehicle key in the driver door lock cylinder located in the driver door handle and cycle the key 5 times within 5 seconds.
The DIC will display a message: OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button.
The DIC will display a message: WAIT 10 MINUTES, then it will count down from 10 to 0, one minute at a time.
When the counter reaches 0, DIC will display OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Repeat steps 5-7 two more times, for a total of 30 minutes.
The DIC will display a message: OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button.
A beep will occur and the DIC will display: READY FOR FOB 1. At this time all previously known key fobs have been erased. When fob 1 is programmed a beep will be heard and the DIC will display a message: READY FOR FOB 2.
Additional key fobs can be programmed by taking fob 1 out of the pocket and inserting fob 2. If desired, up to 4 fobs can be programmed. Once 4 fobs have been learned, the DIC will display a message: MAX FOBS LEARNED, and automatically exit the program mode.
If learning less than 4 key fobs, press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button to exit the program mode.
Operate the active portion of each key fob in order to finalize the programming sequence and verify correct system operation.
Q: will 2006-8 cadillac dts rims fit on a 1993 deville?
i hate the ugly old people wheels thats on my 93 cadillac so i want to spice it up, i already took off the hood emblem and put a grille emblem on it, and now i want wheels so would dts wheels fit on it? if not what kind of cadillac wheels would? if you give me any other suggestions, please suggest 2002 and newer wheels because i changed all of the emblems to the new style emblem
A: You might be in luck…both are a 5×115 bolt pattern, so they should interchange, and a 1993 DeVille can take up to a 20 inch wheel. The 2006 DTS came with 17 or 18 inch stock wheels. Good luck.
Q: 2006 Cadillac DTS Vs. 2006 Toyota Avalon which would be a better buy?
Just this passed weekend i rented a 2006 toyota avalon? and liked the styling and the space. it drove smooth on the road but it was a little sloppy in handling it does not grip the road like it`s competitor the Nissan Maxima(which i love the way it drives on the road) . that is the only part i did not like. now i have grown up with Cadillacs all of my life everyone in my family either has or had a Cadillac. none of them never had any trouble with theirs. except my aunt who had a Catera a couple of years ago ,which was a flop for Cadillac. But i love the styling of Cadillac and think that they are beautiful cars and plan to own one,one day. but when i was out, someone had parked next to my rental Avalon and it was a Cadillac DTS, i noticed that the DTS and the Avalon were the same length and it seems like size too. The Cadillac was prettier though. i know people would say that the Avalon would last 10 years longer than the DTS. but i noticed on the reviews on the Avalon, that a lot of people were`nt happy with their Avalons. I did not see too many complaints on the DTS. Now i would be honest with you eventhough the Avalon would last me a longer time than the DTS i just could not see myself paying $34,000 for a new one. I would buy a Pre-owned DTS @ $34,000. but if i went to buy one, out of these two cars are a better buy? eventhough and Cadillac is a luxury car, and they say that the Avalon a near-luxury vehicle. which one is a better buy?
A: The Cadillac is a clear winner. The resale is also a determining factor. Avalons, out of all the Toyota’s have a poor resell value. I have driven both and the Cadillac also rode smoother on a long trip. The Avalon started making me car sick after 2 hours.
Q: How do I connect my new IPOD Nano to my factory car stereo?
I have a 2003 Cadillac Deville DTS. How do I connect my new IPOD Nano to the factory car stereo? I know that I can purchase gadgets that will play it through radio frequency. I want the highest sound quality though. Is there a way to do this without spending a fortune on a whole new IPOD-friendly stereo? Suggestions please. Thanks.
A: Without a specific IPOD input jack you are pretty much out of luck. The aftermarket adapters significantly degrade the already poor quality of the signal generated by the IPOD unit. If you plan to keep your Cadillac for awhile and wnat to listen to your IPOD through the car speakers, I’d suggest that you have a new radio installed. They are really not that expensive.
Q: Stereo for my 2003 Cadillac DTS?
I am tired of lugging around CD’s. I have a new IPOD and there is no auxiliary jack on my stock stereo system. I do not want to go through radio frequency because of the poor sound quality. What IPOD-friendly stereo would work best for me? I am looking for something not too expensive and not look too gaudy. I am thinking a “double din” stereo would fit nice, no?
A: Yes I believe you can fit a double din… I would go with anything pioneer… They work great with iPods, and are the best for the money… Maybe a AVH-P3100DVD… Should be able to find something like this for pretty cheap on ebay or even best buy or something…
Q: Cadillac Deville DTS has bouncy ride and leaks power steering fluid?
I recently had new stabilizer pins put on my 2002 Cadillac Deville DTS. I thought that would take care of the problem but I still get the following error codes “Service Stability System” and “Service Suspension System.” I also notice that every few days I have to refill the power steering tank, I can hear the pump squealing when it’s empty but I’m not sure if it’s the pump or a leak in the hose. Any thoughts on either problem?
A: If your ride is bouncy then that is a likely sign that you need new shocks and/or struts. You could possibly need springs as well, but I would service the Shocks and Struts first.
Also, since you know you are leaking fluid somewhere, refill the tank, park the car, and then periodically look at the ground underneath the front of your car. where ever you see a puddle of fluid is a good indicator of where it is leaking from. Then observe the under chassis of the car directly above the puddle to see if you can spot dripping fluid. might need a flash light, lol.
Q: Cadillac DTS vs. Dodge Charger/Challenger?
I’ve been looking at new cars, and it seems the 8 cyl. Hemi Chargers and Challengers have about 100 more horsepower than the 8 cyl. Caddy DTS, and costs significantly less. I know the Caddy is more of a luxury car, but is it really worth the extra money?
A: No the Cadillac is not worth the extra money. A Charger R/T will be a nice vehicle for you, it is built on a Mercedes platform, and has a Mercedes transmission.
And Chrysler is not going anywhere. They had worse financial problems in the 80’s and survived just fine.
Q: My 2002 Cadillac DTS died at 96k miles!?
I have a ‘02 DTS and i have taken very good care of it. Oil change every 3k and a tune up every 15k. I just had the catalytic converter replaced about a month ago and now my car’s engine needs replaced. I bought the car brand new back in 2001 so it has only one owner. How did the engine go bad. I cant believe this. Any suggestions?
A: cars die. some earlier then others. im kind of suprised though. my father has a Cadillac and that thing is still running like new at 400k

What’s the difference between the STS, CTS, DTS, and SLS, and which is the best?
A: I’m not a connoisseur for Cadillacs but I do know that the DTS is a big and powerful sedan, with the Northstar V8. The CTS is, in my opinion, one of the sleekest looking mid-sized cars around.
The others I don’t really know much about. They are Cadillacs though so they’re nice cars. Just go to Wikipedia and type in the names and you’ll see what they are like.
Q: I have a 00 Cadillac DTS,its not wanting to crank.Whats wrong with it?
It started out with the key not wanting to come out or turn the ignition switch.So I put it in the shop,where they put a new ignition switch on it.Now it will turn the switch,but want crank.Finally I was told that my computer in the car needed flashing,I had that done and it still won’t crank.
A: It sounds like they put in the ignition lock, the ignition switch is completely different. There are too many possibilities which could cause your problem. I don’t know who said you needed your computer flashed. If it was the same people who put in your lock they maybe giving you the run around, which upsets me. You need a good mechanic to check this out for you, with the proper knowledge and tools its not that difficult to find the cause, there’s just too many possibilities to describe. Hope you know the difference between cranking and starting, that’s totally different.
Q: Cadillac STS OR DTS?
im looking on buying a cadillac again in the not too distant future (6 maybe 8 months from now) …. i had a 1999 Deville a few years ago and i miss it…. ALOT… im not sure but i think the DTS model is the newer Deville type model…. but i also like the longer front end of the STS….i know out of the 2 the DTS looks more like a Deville… but i want the more “luxurious” one… i think they both have V6 models too which is a plus…. which one would you get… the DTS or STS… and WHY????? thanks in advance…(im looking at ‘05 or higher)…
A: If you had a 99 Deville the 05 Deville 06+DTS would be most like the one you had- meaning northstar power and front wheel drive. The 05+ STS is a rear drive car that comes with 3.6VVT V6 or Northstar. Both are nice cars- they each have their own handling characteristics- DTS being smooth while STS handles a bit better. If you’re looking for mileage the Northstar gets better mileage in the STS than the V6 version does. The motor doesn’t have to work as hard to propel the nearly 2 ton car- the V6 has to push harder and burn more gas. EPA rating on the window sticker was 24mpg on V6 and 26mph on N* on highway. Both are great cars and I have some of each avaialble whenever you’re ready!
