Q: Where can I get a good quality 2010 Chevy Camaro paint job in Oklahoma?
I am wanting to get my camaro painted hot pink or any color pink. I’m not sure if I should just go to a chevy dealer to get it painted. My car is currently red w/blk racing stripes. Anyone know a good place to get a car painted in Oklahoma, or even Texas?
A: A quality paint job from a quality body shop will cost you upwards of $5000. It entails either stripping the current paint off or sanding most of it off and then painting over it. Base coat/clear coat paint is very expensive…. $300 a gallon… or more. The labor involved in prepping the car for paint is the most expensive at over $100/hour and it can take a couple of days to prep the car. Unless you have money to burn… red with black stripes is a very nice looking car.

A: I am not sure about the waiting list but as to the price everything I have read puts the base camaro in the $20k range. I am sure you can expect the V8 convertable to be into the $30’s in 2010.

A: Yeah sorry to burst your bubble but i don’t think that’s going to happen.You would have to be rich for a 15yr old to get a Camaro assuming you don’t want the cheap model which still would be like $350/month.

I live in Harnett county, NC and I drive a Chevy Lumina Z-34 (its a POS). I was looking for a black camaro. I would prefer a 90’s model and I kinda want it in good condition, because im not gonna buy a POS in exchhange for my current POS, that would not be smart of me to do. A: A “90’s ” model covers two different generations and two different Z28 trim motors(LT1 and LS1) when you get into the 4th generation(93-02). You could pay $800 for a 90 or $15K+ for an ‘02.

A: The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro will be available Spring 2009. Chevrolet just started taking orders last month for this new model.
And, for the record, OMG that car is SEXY!!!

I have a 1993 Chevy Camaro (5-speed, 3.4L V6) and the 5th gear doesnt work. Im pretty sure it is the synchronizer. I wanted to know if anyone knew how much i would cost to fix this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.
A: I build cars and have the 92 Camaro 5 speed. I asked 2 of my friends who specialize in transmissions to put a 3rd gear sinc in for me and they both rolled their eyes. seems the 5 speed is a bit of a mess to fix. I looked at prices to buy a rebuild kit and it cost more(at my discounted price) than a 700R4 auto. Go figure. sorry

A: Use Sammy Hagar’s old tag, “The Red Rocker”. I don’t use women’s names, it tends to make the cars more temper-mental and “emotional”. My El Camino is simply known as “The Beast”, to all my friends.

A: Love that car. It came with the GDY Eagle “Gatorback” just like the Covette; but the Vette had a bigger size. It did come with 245/50VR-16. The tires are all the same size but the wheels are different offsets to give a wider track on the rear. Do you want to sell it?
Q: Why is the Service light on My Chevy Camaro coming on?
I have a 1989 Chevy Camaro and after driving for about 5 min the service engine soon light comes on i can’t figure out why it sounds fine and runs well, it isn’t over heating or anything like that. does anyone know what could be going on? also next to the service engine soon light there is a light that says security that comes on sometimes when i start it up does anyone know what that is all about also?
A: The service engine soon light comes on because the engine management computer has detected a fault and has stored a trouble code. Many times the engine will continue to run just fine. The only way to know exactly why the light is in is to connect a scan tool to the diagnostic port and extract the trouble code(s). This car is too old to have an ODB2 computer. Make sure you use the correct scan tool.
The engine management computer monitors all of the sensors connected to the engine. Information from these sensors are used to adjust the fuel / air mixture and ignition timing. It also monitors sensors for various emissions devices. Most likely one of these sensors is giving readings out of expected range. When this happens the computer uses a static preset value, stores a trouble code, and turns on the service engine soon light.
Most major automotive parts stores will connect a scan tool for free and get you the trouble code(s). You can then use this information to decide what to do next.

A: A stock replacement. It’s going to sound pretty terrible with any kind of “high performance” aftermarket exhaust.

A: Well the Camaro convertible will be out one year after the hard top so figure January of 2010. Best guess around $30000 sticker however depending on options and how hot they are you will pay more than that for it.
