For more information and awesome write up about the Ford MustangPlease visit the top car portal TopGearRules.org

Q: Is the 2008 Ford Mustang GT okay in the winter time? I live in Virginia. ?
I am planning on buying a ford mustang and I wanted to if it does okay in the winter time since it is a rear wheel drive. Also I know that the new models have traction control. Does this help?

A: If you want to loose control in Mustang GT you can because it’s engine produces 300hp, 320 ft/trq and that can spin the wheel easily at first gear. Shift slowly and don’t get it to high rpms. It will be an awesome car, beside mustangs have one of the safest chassis. It’s 5 star in front, side and rollover crashes for the front seats.

Q: Where do i find a used ford mustang gt at for a cheap price?
i need to find a Ford Mustang GT 2004 model for a cheap price i cant find a website that can help me with that so does anyone know where i can find one if you can help i thank you for it

A: Ther are some dirt cheap ones in the junk yard.

Q: will a 2000 ford mustang gt motor fit in 1994 300zx?
I have a 1994 300zx and i wanted to have an engine swap with a 2000 ford mustang gt. Will it work?

A: If you have a ton of money for a custom swap like that sure. Nothing will bolt up or connect. Companies don’t make their parts compatible with other companies.

Q: How do I remove the rear seats in a 01 ford mustang?
2001 ford mustang v-6

A: If you get in the back facing the back seat you should be able to push the seat bottom or cushion towards the back of the car and then pull up on it at the same time. Once it’s out you should see where the seat back is bolted down. Good luck.

Q: I need to see a picture of a greenish 1994 Ford Mustang?
I need to see a picture of 1994 Ford Mustang.(Green-ish color) because there is one for sale somewhere but my mom and dad won’t let me see it. I need a picture one so I can get an idea of what it looks like Thanks

A: Check this one: http://www.gasolinealleyantiques.com/diecast/images/corgi/corgi320mustang1.JPG

Q: What kind of Ford Mustang should i get?
I’m 16 and for my 17th birthday i will most likley be getting a car. I’ve loved ford mustangs ever since i was 12 or even younger. I wanted to know what is the best model of the newer ones (05,06 or 07) convertable?

A: Depends on what you want to get!!!! if you want to impress the girls, get a convertible, ride with the wind and the sun in your face. If you love power get the 07*500 Shelby; anything in between are just as good AND AFFORDABLE. This is a working man’s sportscar. But if you want to show off your money, then its a different story. Those guys driving 911; MB; Jaqs; BMW would despise you and look down on you. Its a free country. I was told there are over 4 millions of them around, give or take 1 millions. Best of luck. You wont regret it.

Q: Which is the best Car, FORD MUSTANG OR CHEVY CAMARO?
Their has always been a rivalry between Ford and Chevrolet, especially the camaro and mustang, but which one is better.I know theirs a variety of mustangs with different options in order to beat the camaro. Which, one is better: engine, body, the whole package.

A: mustang

Q: How Long do Fox Body ford mustang’s last in general?
Hello. I am considering buying a ford mustang specifically from 1987-1993. How long do these cars last in general as far as mileage goes? would one with 200,000 Km’s be to much? Would a car in this range be just a future money pit or can I still expect to get good life out of them? These cars I am looking at are in good shape as far as the body goes and engine is running smoothly. They have been run hard occasionally though, as they are mustangs. Thanks For any help

A: The oldest Fox-based “Stangs are more than 20 years old, and the newest ones are 16 years old. The mileage sounds pretty good, unless of course those miles were put on it at the drag strip, 1/4 mile at a time.

The Mustangs of this vintage are pretty straightforward mechanically, and replacement parts should be easy enough to come by. chevck for rust and wreck damage, the same as you would any other vehicle, and look and listen for any signs of imminent mechanical collapse, and you’ll do fine.

Q: 1965 Ford Mustang restored to run on electric not gas?
ok i love the design and look of the 1965 Ford mustang. But those cars just burns through gas. Is it even possible to restore the car and make it electric? Know of any places that do it? I just want the car to be more fuel efficient? Any suggestions would be welcome.

The worst possible situation (which isnt that bad) is keeping it with the original parts.

A: depending on where you live, look for a local electric car club and talk to the members. I see the answers given lack intelligence. the mustang is heavy but still workable. check out the sites provided also check out the links

Q: Ford Mustang 1973, What is the Body style called for that car? and what cars look similare to the Mustang?
What is the body style called

and

what car looks imilare to a ford Mustang 1973 but that does not cost a lot to run and insure.

A: It is called a pony car. The Mercury Montego and Ford Gran Torino of the same years look similar, as does the earlier Ford Fairlane GT. These cars will not be cheap to operate, but may be cheaper to insure.

Q: do you think the ford mustang has become more of a chicks car?
everytime i see a ford mustang nowadays theres a girl driving it?

A: No. But now that I think about it, my sister does drive one.

Q: Should i get a Ford Mustang GT or the Shelby?
I am going to trade my 2006 ford F-150 and get a Mustang but i am going to either get the GT or the Shelby whats the difference between the two? And how much more am i gaining with the Shelby?

A: If I had too choose between the two cars, I would buy the Shelby. The current generation Shelby Mustangs are going to be highly sought after collector cars in the future, just like the 1960’s Mustangs & Shelby’s models are now.

Q: Should i get a Ford Mustang GT or the Shelby?
I am going to trade my 2006 ford F-150 and get a Mustang but i am going to either get the GT or the Shelby whats the difference between the two? And how much more am i gaining with the Shelby?

A: If this is a daily driver, get the GT.
If this is a long-term investment or a show-car, get the Shelby.

I am guessing it’s the former, which is why the GT is way more practical for you.
Plus, it’s like $20K less.
You rarely get a chance to open up 500 horsepower on city streets and highways.
300+ Horsepower is enough for everyday driving and your insurance will be less expensive.

Heck, you may even want to consider the 2011 Mustang V6. It comes with 305 horsepower and gets 31 mpg highway.

Q: I have a 2000 V6 ford mustang. The problem is that when i do a burnout only one right tire spins. Why is that?
I have a 2000 V6 ford mustang. The problem is that when i do a burnout only one right tire spins. Why is that? Please help me out and what can i do for a perfect two tire burnout.

A: unless you have some Type of a posi rear end, only one wheel will spin. It takes horsepower and torque to spin both back tires, and a v6 doesn’t have it. doing burnouts my look cool to all your friends, be sure and take up a collection from them for the new transmission your going to need because smoking the tires kills tyranny’s

Q: 2001 ford truck alternater compatable with my 2001 ford mustang?
My friend has an extra alternater which I’m in dire need. He said he would put it in for me free but i do not know if a truck of the same maker and same year will work for my 2001 ford mustang… HELP!

A: No. I’m guessing what you really want to know if the alternator is a “bolt-in” replacement for yours. Sorry, truck parts won’t help.
If your Mustang has the 3.8 V6, the alternators that will bolt in are from ‘01 to ‘04 3.8 Mustangs only. Inceidentally 130 amps, as heavy duty as any 2001 Ford pickup, even the diesels.
If your Mustang is a GT with the 4.6 SOHC engine, alternators from ‘99-’04 Mustang 4.6’s are the bolt-in.
Lastly, if you have a Cobra 4.6 DOHC, you would need an alternator from an ‘01-’04 Cobra.

Q: Where can I get a good quality 2010 Chevy Camaro paint job in Oklahoma?
I am wanting to get my camaro painted hot pink or any color pink. I’m not sure if I should just go to a chevy dealer to get it painted. My car is currently red w/blk racing stripes. Anyone know a good place to get a car painted in Oklahoma, or even Texas?

A: A quality paint job from a quality body shop will cost you upwards of $5000. It entails either stripping the current paint off or sanding most of it off and then painting over it. Base coat/clear coat paint is very expensive…. $300 a gallon… or more. The labor involved in prepping the car for paint is the most expensive at over $100/hour and it can take a couple of days to prep the car. Unless you have money to burn… red with black stripes is a very nice looking car.

Q: What ar the costs (or price range) of the new 2009 chevy camaro? Is there also a waiting list for this vehicle
What ar the costs (or price range) of the new 2009 chevy camaro? Is there also a waiting list for this vehicle

A: I am not sure about the waiting list but as to the price everything I have read puts the base camaro in the $20k range. I am sure you can expect the V8 convertable to be into the $30’s in 2010.

Q: How Im Going To get The New Chevy Camaro…..?
Okay. I want a new 2010 Chevy Camaro when they come out. They Come out when i turn 15 years old. My dad already pre order his, But i want one too. My family isn’t poor but were not rich either but i really want one but i don’t know how im going to pay for the payments anyone got any ideas if so please leave them…If i just cannot do it ill find a used mustang Gt..But Im a Chevy FAN

A: Yeah sorry to burst your bubble but i don’t think that’s going to happen. You would have to be rich for a 15yr old to get a Camaro assuming you don’t want the cheap model which still would be like $350/month.

Q: How much would it cost, and where could I get a black Chevy Camaro?
I live in Harnett county, NC and I drive a Chevy Lumina Z-34 (its a POS). I was looking for a black camaro. I would prefer a 90’s model and I kinda want it in good condition, because im not gonna buy a POS in exchhange for my current POS, that would not be smart of me to do. Can anyone give me any info possibly??

A: A “90’s ” model covers two different generations and two different Z28 trim motors(LT1 and LS1) when you get into the 4th generation(93-02). You could pay $800 for a 90 or $15K+ for an ‘02.

Autotrader, craigslist, ls1tech.com are a few sites that will get you started

Q: When is the new chevy camaro coming out?
Does anyone know when the new chevy camaro is coming out? is it 2009 or 2010. I keep getting two stories.

A: The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro will be available Spring 2009. Chevrolet just started taking orders last month for this new model.

And, for the record, OMG that car is SEXY!!!

Q: Do you think the price for the 2010 Chevy Camaro will have went down next year?
do you think by Next year you’ll be able to get a used 2010 chevy Camaro in the Teens?

A: the six cylinder basic should be about 18k. R/S about 25k … ss = 35k .. all pending mileage of course

Q: How do i fix my 1993 Chevy Camaro?
I have a 1993 Chevy Camaro (5-speed, 3.4L V6) and the 5th gear doesnt work. Im pretty sure it is the synchronizer. I wanted to know if anyone knew how much i would cost to fix this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.

A: I build cars and have the 92 Camaro 5 speed. I asked 2 of my friends who specialize in transmissions to put a 3rd gear sinc in for me and they both rolled their eyes. seems the 5 speed is a bit of a mess to fix. I looked at prices to buy a rebuild kit and it cost more(at my discounted price) than a 700R4 auto. Go figure. sorry

Q: Where can I find a free wiring diagram picture for a monsoon cassate stereo in a 2000 chevy camaro.?
Where can I find a free wiring diagram picture for a monsoon cassate stereo in a 2000 chevy Z28 camaro? I am switching the head unit and I need to know where the wires run!!! Thanxs!!!

Q: What is the paint code for the new 2010 Chevy Camaro RED!?
i need help fast!! tomorrow at 5 im going to put my car into the paint booth and paint it.. my delema iis i need the paint code for the red 2010 Chevy Camaro! thank you all for helping!

A: 2221

Q: What should I name my car? Red chevy camaro. How about Jackie Blue?
I have a red 1986 chevy camaro. I was thinking of naming it Jackie Blue after the song. Do you think that is a good name, and if not, do you have any suggestions?

A: Use Sammy Hagar’s old tag, “The Red Rocker”. I don’t use women’s names, it tends to make the cars more temper-mental and “emotional”. My El Camino is simply known as “The Beast”, to all my friends.

Q: what size tires are stock on a 86 chevy iroc camaro?
i just checked out a 86 chevy camaro i really want to buy, but it needs new tires to pass inspection. i tried googling and i couldnt find a consistent answer. anyone know what size tires come stock?
is that for both front and back? i thought front was alittle smaller?

A: Love that car. It came with the GDY Eagle “Gatorback” just like the Covette; but the Vette had a bigger size. It did come with 245/50VR-16. The tires are all the same size but the wheels are different offsets to give a wider track on the rear. Do you want to sell it?

Q: Why is the Service light on My Chevy Camaro coming on?
I have a 1989 Chevy Camaro and after driving for about 5 min the service engine soon light comes on i can’t figure out why it sounds fine and runs well, it isn’t over heating or anything like that. does anyone know what could be going on? also next to the service engine soon light there is a light that says security that comes on sometimes when i start it up does anyone know what that is all about also?

A: The service engine soon light comes on because the engine management computer has detected a fault and has stored a trouble code. Many times the engine will continue to run just fine. The only way to know exactly why the light is in is to connect a scan tool to the diagnostic port and extract the trouble code(s). This car is too old to have an ODB2 computer. Make sure you use the correct scan tool.

The engine management computer monitors all of the sensors connected to the engine. Information from these sensors are used to adjust the fuel / air mixture and ignition timing. It also monitors sensors for various emissions devices. Most likely one of these sensors is giving readings out of expected range. When this happens the computer uses a static preset value, stores a trouble code, and turns on the service engine soon light.

Most major automotive parts stores will connect a scan tool for free and get you the trouble code(s). You can then use this information to decide what to do next.

Q: What type of exhaust system can i put on a 86 Chevy Camaro with 2.8L engine?
Where is a good place to get this done??? Any websites to look at exhaust systems for a 86 Chevy Camaro with 2.8L engine???

A: A stock replacement. It’s going to sound pretty terrible with any kind of “high performance” aftermarket exhaust.

Q: How much will the 2009 Chevy Camaro conver cost when it comes out?If you dont know can you give me an estimate
how much will the chevy camaro 2009 convertible cost when it comes out? If you dont know can you give me an estimate?
THANKS

A: Well the Camaro convertible will be out one year after the hard top so figure January of 2010. Best guess around $30000 sticker however depending on options and how hot they are you will pay more than that for it.

Q: What do you think of the new Chevy Camaro coming out?
The 2010 Chevy Camaro is due out this winter! What do you think about it??

(Google 2010 Camaro images if you don’t know what it’s going to look like)

A: The 2010 Camaro is expected to debut in January, 2009, in both base V6 and SS V8 trim. Even in base trim, it is a better-engineered vehicle than the Ford Mustang or the Dodge Challenger, featuring a more sophisticated automatic, more powerful base engine and independent rear suspension.

Q: Where can i buy a new or used 2000 Ford Explorer front Bumper?
i need thissss!!!!!
I saw some on Ebay. What do they mean by covers, isnt it a bumper. And can they be trusted???

A: Ebay, or your local ford dealer can probably help you find one.

Q: How much does a Ford Explorer Sport typically go for?
How much does the truck cost depending on the year it was made? I’m thinking about buying a used Ford Explorer Sport, but I have no idea about the price ranges. Thanks.
ford sport trac*

A: $4000 to $8000 depending on year, mileage, options and condition…

Q: I’m thinking about getting a used 1994 ford explorer. i want some feed back on the performance of this vehicle?
what is the gas mileage like and performance of this year of vehicle.

A: My dad has the same car…. it runs very well, and has lasted us thing long so far (he has been the only owner). The controls are all nice, and it is pretty spacious for a truck. Overall, it is a great car (and has been for our family): we haven’t had any problems with it yet!

Q: We are considering buying a used Ford Explorer (1997-2000).?
For those who have owned one, please tell me what you like or dislike about them. What are some common problems?

A: i loved mine. when i hit a tree going about 35-40 both air bags activated. car was totaled but i was unhurt. the large hooded front was a blessing. its a good safe vehicle i think.

Q: I have a question can the IAC from a 99 ford explorer be used on a 98 ford explorer?
yes or no?
yes i did clean it but it needs a new one because it started making a whistling noise

A: Yes,if they both have the same size engine they definitely interchange.

Q: thinking of buying a used 1996 ford explorer?
hoping someone can tell me what to look for before buying this car?

A: You need to make sure there is no rust, and make sure the tires are good. Then, you will need to test drive it. If you are satisfied with the test drive, you need to get a Carfax report, and have the truck inspected by a certified mechanic that YOU trust (not the seller’s buddy down the road who works on cars).

Q: Replacing Key Fob for a 1999 Ford Explorer?
I just bought a used Ford Explorer, but a key fob was not given to me. I can’t imagine that It wasn’t included in the original sale. Can you get a replacement from a dealer?

A: Keyless entry is an optional feature, so it’s possible that it wasn’t included on your vehicle. If it was, then a dealer should be able to provide a replacement key fob; however, you might find it’s cheaper to have an after-market keyless entry system installed, especially if you need more than one remote.

Q: installing a used trans in a ford explorer?
I am installing a salvage trans in a 1991 ford explorer. The book says to mark the torque converter before removal which i understand is for balance. but how can the new torque converter be installed for balance. I am an ase mechanic so i have a good understanding of vehicles

A: The reason they mark the converter when pulling it is for easy install but when using a new converter or even a new flywheel there isnt anyway to quick line it other than guess, so you put the converter bolts in hand tight untill you get them all in ensuring that all is lined up properly! Good Luck

Q: Where can I find a used 2001 ford explorer sport trac HOOD already with a hood scope on it?

A: Hard to find. They didn’t sell many of those relative to other Explorers. Having said that, thank your lucky starts because that my friend is a waste of money!

Q: Do I have a warranty on my 2006 Ford Explorer? I bought it used from CarMax, does it transfer to me?
I have no clue, does a three year/36k mile warranty carry over? I bought it used from CarMax, it is an 06, and I have 17k miles on it, but don’t know if the warranty would still be valid for me? If so, can I just take it in to any dealership for repair, and they would then recoginize the warranty on it?

A: Yes, the manufacturers warranty stays with the vehicle no matter who owns it and how many owners.
The dealer will tell you if you got warranty left on it.

Q: How do i use the 4 wheel drive on a 2000 Ford Explorer, Have never used it before.?
I have had this SUV for just over a year, not sure how to use the 4X4, it didnt come with a manuel, I am not sure if it needs to be in park or do you just turn the button while driving. thanks for any help.

A: You should be able to shift it in on the fly (while the vehicle is moving). I always try to keep the vehicle as slow as possible or stop before I put it in. You’ll feel a lugging in the front end when turning, and you shouldn’t drive it when the roads are dry.

Q: Which used transmissions will work with my 1998 Ford Explorer?
1998 Ford Explorer XLT automatic transmission is slipping going into third gear. Which years will still fit? I recall the 1997 and 1998 Explorer tranny is the same. What about Ford Ranger?

A: there should be a service tag on the side of trans. but i would be careful of switching between years of vehicles, they change the electronics from year to year usually and from vehicle to vehicle. best bet is to build the 1 you got.

Q: What is the best year for Ford Explorer’s?
I want to buy a used Ford Explorer i need to know what year to get

A: Your best years for a Ford Explorer seem to be ‘02 and ‘06 according to Consumer Reports.

Q: What are your thoughts on a 1998 Ford Explorer?
I am hoping to buy a used 1998 Ford Explorer within the next week from an owner. It seems it was well-kept but has almost 150K miles. It has a re-manufactured transmission with 20K miles on it.

I want to know roughly how many miles do Fords usually get?

If you own a Ford Explorer, what do you think of it?

Thanks!

A: I owned a ‘98 Explorer that I bought in 2000. It had 18k miles when we bought it, and 85k when we sold it. We usually don’t keep a vehicle much past 90k miles.

It was a good, comfortable SUV that gave decent mpg, great in the snow, and I don’t think it ever left us stranded.

Ours had the 4.0 V6 that ran great, but we did have the timing chain replaced at about 30k miles, due to a strange noise. According to others, that was a rare problem.

We had an issue with the automatic 4WD transfer case shuddering under acceleration. The dealer changed all kinds of parts with no success, so I changed the fluid in the transfer case and fixed it for under $3.00. It was burned fluid, and the problem never came back.

After the string of vehicles we have owned since, I wish we had the old Explorer back. With proper maintenance and no abuse, it should go past 200k miles before any major repairs are required.

Q: i bought a used 1999 ford explorer and it only has one leaf on each side of the rear is that normal?

A: IF ITS THE TWO DOOR SPORT MODEL YES IT HAS ONLY 1 SPRING IN THE REAR THE 4 DOOR MODEL HAS THE FULL SET IN THE REAR.YOU CAN BUY AFTER MARKET SHOCKS FROM MONROE THAT HAVE COIL SPRINGS OVER THE SHOCKS TO HELP WITH HAULING AND TOWING.I PUT THEM ON MY 99 AND IT RIDES SO MUCH BETTER.

Q: Is $100 enough to compensate for a paint chip and small dent on a new Honda Civic?
I rear ended someone and their was a penny sized paint chip, exposing bare metal. Also a linear horizontal dent (barely visible). I gave the guy a $100 to settle for it. We wanted to avoid insurance intervention. Was $100 fair enough? Should I have given more/less?

A: If he was happy with the amount than it was probably fair, however 100 bucks does not fix much so I would say that you got the better deal. To speak in all honesty you should have agreed to pay the bill at the Autobody shop after the repair. There are very good paintless dent guys that would fix the dent very cheaply, and as far as the paint chip goes they would just touch it up, as the probably would elect to not paint the entire panel. A hundred bucks probably wouldn’t cover the owners time to take the vehicle to get repaired.

Q: What should I buy for my brand new honda civic?
I want to get a special duster for the dashboard, soft scrubby and wash to wash it, something to play my ipod in it, what am i missing to keep it looking nice?
it already comes with a full tank

A: to.wash.your.car
you.need

2.buckets
wash.mitt
microfiber.towels
grit.gaurds

also.suggest.car.wax

Q: Part needed for a new Honda Civic?
On the new civic if you look at the back of the car. above the reg plate, I need a new cover for the lights in the middle of the car (which covers the Honda badge) any idea where i can get one or what it is called?

A: would this be a coupe or a sedan (2 or 4 door?)

for sure

estore.honda.com can give you a picture and price for what you are looking for. message me and let me know more about what your looking for and ill help you find it.

not sure what your looking for at this point.

Q: Questions about new 2008 Honda Civic sedan ?
I am looking to buy a new 2008 Honda Civic sedan LX automatic engine black color. My credit is good but I don’t know the APR%

Approximately how much am I looking to pay for my new car monthly.

A: Since your buying a Honda, you should pay 50% interest.

Buy a 2008 Chevy Malibu instead

Q: IPOD connectivity in the new honda civic ex?
I want to connect my ipod to my new honda civis ex. Is there any way i could do that or should i have to buy the 199$ kit from honda.

A: Honda civic comes with an in-built cd player which doesnt have a IPOD connectivity. you need to replace that with a Sony / Blaupunkt Cd player which nowadays, comes with a IPOD connectivity. all the new cd players come with a slot into which you may connect your IPOD.
owning a civic, you shouldnt consider this as an expense.

Q: What kind of attachment do I need to listen to my ipod in my new Honda Civic?
How much does it cost and where can I get it?

A: there are two good kinds of FM transmitters that you can plug into your cigarette lighter and then to your ipod and it transmits it to a radio station. you can find them at any large electronics retailer. best buy and circuit city has them and they average around $70 for ones that charge your ipod, and $50 for ones that just transmit and do not charge. i have found the best brand if the griffin iTrip. also, there are cassette tape adapters if you have a cassette player. these cost around $15

Q: Just purchased a new Honda civic Ex with 24 miles and this weekend planning a trip from?
Chicago, IL to Rochester, NY. Its 610 Miles– What kind of gas mileage should I get? Is that 36mpg hwy on the sticker a reliable number?

A: That number is pretty accurate if you don’t have a lead foot when driving. On average the real gas mileage is 2-5 mpg less then the ticket says if u are a conservative driver. Have fun on ur trip.

Oh yeah, since car is brand new, make sure you don’t rev too high in the car because the car needs to be broken in. Like the gears and fluids need to move throughout the car. After ur first oil change like 3k miles is good point to rev higher. Not that i am encouraging you to let loose on the car..hehe^^

Q: A prankster broke an egg on the hood of my brand new Honda Civic. How to remove?
It’s been at least a couple days, and it seems from some research that our paint job may be screwed. Real nice prank. I mixed vinegar and water and applied a soaked towel to the area for 20 minutes, but no matter how hard I scrub, a film remains. Any ideas?
PS – I used vinegar because a page I found suggested to mix 50% white vinegar with 50% water and soak the towel. Probably a site run by the same kids that crack eggs on cars with my luck.

A: Try the soaked towel again but leave the vinegar out. It may migrate thru the paint and will only serve to coagulate the protein even more. Stop scrubbing. Don’t try any solvents, you could try ordinary polish after the second towel. But I’d go for an insurance job if this does not work well.

Q: How many miles should the tires on a brand new Honda civic last?

A: It’s depends on the brand. It also depends on where you live and the roads you drive it on (more than anything). I read that your elevation has alot to do with how long your tires will last not to mention how you drive. But a good rule of thumb is 30,000 to 70,000 miles.

Q: What do people think of the new Honda Civic Type ‘R’?
I’ve just seen one and think it is the most beautiful looking hot hatch I’ve seen! It looks just fantastic! I always thought Hondas’ were for old people but not this one. It looks revolutionary! Does it drive as good as it looks? I want one now!

A: It is a fantastic looker with great road presence. As a previous own owner of a hot civic I really wanted to like it. Took one for a test drive and have to say I was a bit disappointed. You have to rev the heck out of it to get the performance, it doesn’t handle that well either and has a hard ride. I currently own a Mazda6 Sport which hasn’t got the raw power of the civic but it corners like its on rails, even at speed, and the ride is far superior. When I change cars, I wont be buying a civic type r.

Q: How many miles would a new Honda Civic run when put on DRIVE and no accelerator is pressed?
It runs at about 5 MPH but how many miles would it run before it runs out of gas…another assumption is that the car will run on flat ground.

Any logical answers???
Assuming the car has 10 gallons gas…

A: lame

Q: Did Honda put the old Accord body on to the new Civic’s?
I just checked out the new 2008 honda civic coupe and it looks exactly like last years Accord which didnt sell as well as the Civic.. it seems that they’ve stolen the Civic design and put it on the Accord.. I feel cheated, I loved the 2007 Civic body.. or maybe I’m seeing things? LOL

A: The shapes are similar but the dimensions are not even close the 7th gen accord is much bigger than the newest gen civic.

There is no relation between the the two when it comes down to it.

Q: Does the new Honda Civic Si come in a version with automatic transmission?

A: The Civic Si only comes with a manual transmission. See the link I pasted below for Honda’s web site about the Si.

Q: I wanna get new honda civic with navigation package. Does it cost money to use the navigation system?
I mean like a monthly subscription? or something? thanks

A: no nothing additional

Q: How many miles to the gallon does the new Honda Civic Coupe get?

A: the add i seen for it said more than 35,but they never really gave an exact number on it,it just said they had 3 models that got more than 35 and the civic coupe was one of them, good luck.

I’ve been thinkin about a lambo gallardo, Audi R8, porsche gt, or a ferrari 458 italia. But the guy at the Ferrari dealership said i gotta be on a waiting list. Gay right?
Q: what are your favorite car sounds?
to me its when you at full throttle when engaging Honda’s fantastic VTEC system on a B16 or a going threw the gears and revving to 9,000 RPM in an Ferrari 458 Italia, and love that fact that a double clutch gearbox can make a continuous exhaust note in cars like the Nissan GTR, and then there are the high pitch engine sounds such as a Mazda Rotary engine or a Lamborghini Merceilago LP670-4 SV ( long name ) or the Lexus LFA to name a few . Last but least is the sound of good old american V8 muscle such as the full throttle grunt of Chevrolet Corvette ZO6 (C5 and C6) especially the Lemans race car, the cruising sound of Ford’s Mustang GT with a manual transmission ( forth gen 94-04 ) and the Chevy Camero SS ( all generations ). These are just some examples, I want to know what are your favorites and why. Feel free to express your passion for that sound as I will understand and very car savvy.

A: My favorite car sound is the Lexus LFA’s high pitched F1-like wail.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2UHaSRGBaY

Q: Can you unlock all cars and tracks at once in Grand Turismo 5?
I love cars, and thats why I rushed out and purchased my copy of GT5 looking forward to racing some of my favorite cars in the world hopefully on the Top Gear test track.

All I want to know is can you unlock all the cars or tracks or somehow get them without going through all this bullsh*t racing crappy cars and leveling up, I’m sorry, but I’m just not into that, I just want to sit down and pick a track and car and just drive.

If you can’t, how do you unlock different cars? (example: Ferrari 458, Bugatti Veyron, Merc C63 AMG)

A: You pretty much have to get your A-Spec level up so you can buy higher level cars. The Veyron isn’t all that high, but it costs 2m. It was available in the Online Dealership, but they removed it…not sure how that thing works as it is still new. The Used Car Dealership spawns six new cars for every race you start (and tosses out the six that have been there the longest), so keep an eye there for cars you want. Most cars are already unlocked, so it’s just a matter of having a high enough A-Spec level to see them, having enough credits to buy them (and tune them of course), and keeping an eye on the Used Car Dealership/Online Dealership for anything that isn’t in the New Car Dealership.

Q: Answer for someone who knows a LOT about cars:)?
Okayy so I’ve always loveddd hot cars & now I wanna learn more about them because they’re just soo cool My favs are
Gran Torino 1972
Corvette Stingray Concept
Ferrari 458
Lamborghini
Mustang Shelby GT
Camaro RS
Porsche Carrera GT
Saleen
SSC ultimate aero
Viper
BMW M1 Concept
& also what’s the difference between muscle cars & sport cars? Can you give me examples of what each is? I’d really appreciate if you could tell me as best as possible which cars I listed are muscle & which are sport. Please talk kinda simply cause I’m a girl & have never researched cars before tonight. Thank you so much

A: For exact information on your list of favorite cars you should look them up on wikipedia. Muscle cars are older cars like the Plymouth Cuda, Dodge Challenger, old Mustangs and Camaros, and other cars like that. Newer Mustangs, Camaro’s, Challengers and other cars like Pontiac Grand Prix GTP are now considered to be sports cars, its really a very broad category now. Your Porsche’s, Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, and Vipers are considered to be Exotic Cars. Hope this helped you.

Q: Why do I get so much attention from everyone now that I got a new 2010 BMW M3? It’s it’s like who cares?
Now if it was a Ferrari 458 Italia which I want to get so bad, I could understand. This is my 3rd 3 series I’ve had. First one was a 2000 323i then a 2007 335i and now a 2010 M3 E90 Alpine White. The reason why I ask is that I am feeling like everyone is looking at me and it’s feeling a little weird.

A: It’s one of the best cars you can get for the money. While it’s not as out of reach as a ferrari, an M3 is still highly desired by many people and still out of reach (financially).

You have an awesome car, until many more thousands of these are sold, expect the attention.

Q: What car should I be saving up for in Gran Turismo 5?
I’m level 22 in A-spec, but haven’t tried B-spec yet.
The best cars in my Garage, all upgraded with the best parts are:
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 ‘09
Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 ‘08
Ferrari 458 Italia ‘09
Aston Martin DB9 Coupe ‘06
Lamborghini Countach LP400 ‘74
Jaguar E-TYPE Coupe ‘61
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (C1) ‘54

So what should my next purchase be? I would like to get something like a Pagani Zonda R ‘09 and I currently have 2,413,950 Cr.

A: I agree with you , you should get a Pagani Zonda R . It has very good handling and very fast acceleration. I would also suggest Honda Epson NSX race car (premium). It is very good and only costs 950,000 CR. But if you are willing to save up to 10,000,000 CR I suggest getting one of the Ferrari F1 cars.

Q: Nissan GTR Accelaration?
I am sure all you car fans are aware of the GTR and its performance. What amazes me is the 0-60 mph time, more precisely how is it able to accelerate to the magic Number in under 3 sec. This car seems to define the laws of physics. At the end of the day the Ferrari 458 (another brilliant car) achieves that speed in about 3.4 sec but with much more power. And if you argue that it is all down to the four wheel drive the lamborghini gallardo lp560-4 even the light version runs it in about 3.6 sec. So what do you think is the gtr secret. how can they hurdle this big heavy car without the use of monsterous engine?

A: The GTR has launch control to get the 0-60 at 2.9 seconds. These days, sophisticated electronics beat a driver controlled start every time. Europeans in general do not view low 0-60 times as a significant measure of performance, they are more concerned about handling, top speed and such things as “engine elasticity” which as far as I can gather measures the size of the engines sweet spot.

Q: Ferrari 458 Italia or Lamborgini Gallardo?
We had a discussion in class about this and quite frankly i think Ferrari is better, but, which one do YOU think is better?
Ferrari 458 Italia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lO4KQ74r3g

or the Lamborghini Gallardo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hovbx6rvBaA

(take notice of what the guy says at 1:00 in the lamborghini video.)

A: ferrari 458 for me thanks

Q: Ferrari 458 Italia or Lamborgini Gallardo?
Ferrari 458 Italia or Lamborgini Gallardo?

Q: who bought a new dodge charger, and do you like it?

A: my parents just bought one with 32 miles on it … damn im jealous ><

Q: Do you like the new Dodge Charger?

A: No, it’s too heavy and is only available in 4 doors.

Wait for the Challenger to come early next year, it’s lighter and is a 2 door car. http://www.dodgechallengercountdown.com

Q: would now be a good time to get a good deal on a new dodge charger?
i love the style

A: if your wanting an 09 model wait as long as possible before x-mas,if your wanting a 2010 model now is a good time to buy because the more they sell the more they can re-order,and the better it looks on their sales record,it looks good when a dealer can say they sold 200 new cars before the old ones was gone, good luck.

Q: How much would I be paying in Insurance if I buy a new 06 or 07 Dodge Charger?
Does the fact that I am going to pay close to 2/3’s of the total price of the car as a down payment?

A: Insurance doesn’t matter what you owe on the loan.

Insurance is based on value of car, cost to fix the car on average (every car is different), your age, married or not, and any more your credit score. Plus it depends on how many tickets, accidents are on your driving record.

You might pay $45 a month…..you might pay $212 a month. Won’t know till you call insurance companies and give them your info so they can put it into their formula to figure out what to charge you.

Q: which is beater old or new dodge charger?

A: the old dodge charger is a beater…it sure beats walking!

Q: can u do a burnout witha new dodge charger RT with just kicking down?
the gas pedal and disabling the ESP? No brake pedal pushing.

A: You can but…….

If you really want to cause a nice smoke show…..Remove FUSE #17 as by just pressing the Disable ESP button on the dash WILL NOT fully disable ESP from the LX platform vehicles (Magnum/300/Chargers).

Been there done that with my Magnum’s (R/T & SRT8)

Q: Anyone own or have driven a New 2006 Dodge Charger ?
I want to rent one or take one for a test drive.

A: Well, that would be the best way for you to find out – rent one.
There’s a thrify car rental place right down the street from me and they have a silver one they are renting.

Q: New 08 Dodge Charger Question…?
I am looking into buying an a brand new 08 Dodge Charger or Avenger. Anyone here have either one of these cars? Which one do you like more and why? I am a female and fairly young. Both of the cars appeal to me, however I like the Charger more because it has better room. But, the Avenger is front wheel drive while the Charger is rear drive which gets bad traction in snow and rain. Which car do you like more, and why? Thanks! =)

A: Well the charger is no cow it has alot of power but for a young girl i would reccomend the avenger because it is less expensive and is easier to drive.

Q: what do u think of the new dodge charger? worth getting for a 18 year old?

A: A Charger SXT is a great car for a young person. The 3.5 V6 is a trouble free 200K mile engine and being a rear wheel drive car its a great handling car. Traction control is standerd on the SXT but an option on the SE and base model. I don’t think I would put an 18 yr old in a Charger R/T or SRT8. Just to much power for one that young and insurance would cost as much as the car. Go here and talk to people who have put there kids and themselves in the best car ever made www.chargerforumz.com

Q: i bought a 74 dodge charger SE with a 318 engine in it and i wanna buy a new bigger engine to stick in it.?
what engine would fit and be good for it? should i go with a new dodge or try to find a rebuilt old one. could i fit a dodge ram engine in it? if you know of any sites that sell good quality engines for a good price please list

A: if your going to change engines for power purposes ,go with a big block engine if your just looking for a small power gain a 360 will fit it real easy, and i would go with good rebuilt one that has a good warranty and this company has the best ones on the market, they also build a performance engine that comes with a 3 year 75 thousand mile warranty, good luck,http://www.jasperengines.com/

Q: I’m looking at buying a new 2007 Dodge Charger Daytona, w/ Hemi?
Anyone know how well these cars hold their value? I’m looking at the Daytona Special Edition. Anyone have any idea if it hass the lifeitme power train warranty, and most of the additions if it will hold it’s value? Thanks for the help!

A: Daytona I believe only come with Hemis and they are kinda hard to find. The dealers want top dollar for them. Be prepared to pay well over the sticker price since they are in demand. As to if they will hold value well thats hard to say but I believe their powerplant, styling and the cars as a whole made it an instant classic. The daytona is what an olds 442 (4 door) was back in the day. Any way it should hold its value to a certain extent as ong as its kept all original. The car will have enough horses to where you wont have to go nuts with tinkering with it.
Good Luck finding one.

P.S. Try to get a yellow with black stripes or a burnt orange with black stripes, they look devastating.

Q: What is the 0-60 mph time for a new Dodge Charger with the 6.1 V-8?

A: Dodge Charger: 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec./ 1 qt mile in 14.2 sec./ top speed 145 mph./ braking 70-0 mph in 169 feet./ fuel economy 17 mpg-city.

Q: What do you think about the new Dodge Charger/Challenger?
Personally I think both are great cars. Charger engines ranging frm 2.7l (190hp) to 6.1l hemi (425hp). A lot of people complain about the charger being 4 door. But I’m guessing chrysler did this with the intention of releasing the Challenger and it being the only sports coupe. Others gripe about not being like the “old charger” while I also like the original body. Lets not forget the 80’s model before the end of production (also called a plymouth duster) was a 2 door hatchback more similar to a Geo Metro than american muscle. Also the SRT model Challenger actually outperforms the original hemi. Let me know what you think. I’m not looking for biased answers.

A: the charger i was never too impressed with, but i did get to drive a challenger the other day ,a friend of mine bought one and finally got it,i was impressed with the running part of it, but the ride was a little stiff, but it ran and drove really good and has an enormous amount of power to it,backing up isn’t to easy on it though its hard to see out the back glass,he was with me when i drove it and he told me to get on it and i did, i was really impressed with the torque it has to it,i doubt that i will be able to afford one but they are nice, the have a very slick look to them under the hood also, there’s not wires and hoses running all over the place they cleaned this one up really well, but for the price i will have to pass on one, good luck.

Q: the new 2008 dodge charger?
what do you think about the brand new 2008 dodge charger that just came out this month it has 400 horsepower, can go up to 0-60mph in just 5 secs., navagation system, keyless acess, a bad engine (sayin it in a good way) its supposed to be a new version of the dukes of hazzard car i think its a bad car man i would love to drive it but i dont get my permit till next year =[ and theyre coming out with the V6 SE next year thats supposed to be better =] check out the charger! but what do you think of it?
sorry ya’ll i meant DODGE CHALLENGER i have no clue where i got dodge charger from guess i was in lala land!

A: i edited this i got to see the new charger you was talking about for the first time and it looks good,i hadn’t seen the new commercial for it,but its definitely going to be good contender, that’s one car i would consider buying over a challenger,i like the way it looked, good luck.

Q: What’s more hot looking? a new Dodge charger Rt or Musttang GT?

A: I am going to have to go with the Mustang GT. I have never liked Dodge and their quality has really gone down the toilet. What about you? Thanks for asking!!!

Q: Thinkin about a new Cadillac DTS?
Are they reliable?

A: They are luxury cars. They are pretty amazing.

Q: Does anyone here like the new 2006 Cadillac DTS cars?

A: yes, and I like the CTS too

Q: Engine swap: Generation IV Small block in a Cadillac DTS FWD?
I know that this is a very strange idea, but I have been looking at the newest style FWD DTS and the FWD Impalla SS, and I was thinking it might be a cool idea to make a “DTS-V” if minimal work was involved.

A: In theory I guess it’d work but good luck trying to get that FWD trans to handle even more power. Plus, big power + FWD= crap traction.

Cool idea though

Q: How are cadillac escalades ESV in the winter?
I have a 2002 land rover and a 2008 cadillac DTS and im looking to get a new winter vehicle and i really like the cadillac ESV. Ive had so many problems with my land rover but it was very good in the winter. How will the cadillac stand up to it in the snow? Whats your opinion on the cadillac escalade ESV? Or would a benz G-500 be better?

A: The Cadillac is very good in the winter.

Q: how do you program a 2001 cadillac DTS deville FOB or key less entry remote?
i cant program it it is brand new controller if you could plz help me thank you for your time

A: Key Fob Auto Learn
This procedure will first erase all known key fobs. The procedure will then program a single or multiple key fobs. Method 3 is a series of three 10-minute key cycles, for a total of 30 minutes. This procedure requires that you have a replacement key fob and the vehicle mechanical key.

Important: All previously programmed key fobs will be erased upon completion of the 30-minute programming procedure. The order in which the key fobs are programmed will determine its numbering position within the RCDLR memory. The first key fob programmed will be key fob #1, and the second key fob programmed will be key fob #2. The number stamped on the key fob case is for reference only: #2 can be programmed as #1.
Do not place any known good key fobs in the vicinity of the vehicle when programming.

The vehicle must be OFF.
Place the replacement key fob in the console pocket with the buttons facing forward.
Insert the vehicle key in the driver door lock cylinder located in the driver door handle and cycle the key 5 times within 5 seconds.

The DIC will display a message: OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button.
The DIC will display a message: WAIT 10 MINUTES, then it will count down from 10 to 0, one minute at a time.
When the counter reaches 0, DIC will display OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Repeat steps 5-7 two more times, for a total of 30 minutes.
The DIC will display a message: OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button.
A beep will occur and the DIC will display: READY FOR FOB 1. At this time all previously known key fobs have been erased. When fob 1 is programmed a beep will be heard and the DIC will display a message: READY FOR FOB 2.
Additional key fobs can be programmed by taking fob 1 out of the pocket and inserting fob 2. If desired, up to 4 fobs can be programmed. Once 4 fobs have been learned, the DIC will display a message: MAX FOBS LEARNED, and automatically exit the program mode.
If learning less than 4 key fobs, press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button to exit the program mode.
Operate the active portion of each key fob in order to finalize the programming sequence and verify correct system operation.

Q: will 2006-8 cadillac dts rims fit on a 1993 deville?
i hate the ugly old people wheels thats on my 93 cadillac so i want to spice it up, i already took off the hood emblem and put a grille emblem on it, and now i want wheels so would dts wheels fit on it? if not what kind of cadillac wheels would? if you give me any other suggestions, please suggest 2002 and newer wheels because i changed all of the emblems to the new style emblem

A: You might be in luck…both are a 5×115 bolt pattern, so they should interchange, and a 1993 DeVille can take up to a 20 inch wheel. The 2006 DTS came with 17 or 18 inch stock wheels. Good luck.

Q: 2006 Cadillac DTS Vs. 2006 Toyota Avalon which would be a better buy?
Just this passed weekend i rented a 2006 toyota avalon? and liked the styling and the space. it drove smooth on the road but it was a little sloppy in handling it does not grip the road like it`s competitor the Nissan Maxima(which i love the way it drives on the road) . that is the only part i did not like. now i have grown up with Cadillacs all of my life everyone in my family either has or had a Cadillac. none of them never had any trouble with theirs. except my aunt who had a Catera a couple of years ago ,which was a flop for Cadillac. But i love the styling of Cadillac and think that they are beautiful cars and plan to own one,one day. but when i was out, someone had parked next to my rental Avalon and it was a Cadillac DTS, i noticed that the DTS and the Avalon were the same length and it seems like size too. The Cadillac was prettier though. i know people would say that the Avalon would last 10 years longer than the DTS. but i noticed on the reviews on the Avalon, that a lot of people were`nt happy with their Avalons. I did not see too many complaints on the DTS. Now i would be honest with you eventhough the Avalon would last me a longer time than the DTS i just could not see myself paying $34,000 for a new one. I would buy a Pre-owned DTS @ $34,000. but if i went to buy one, out of these two cars are a better buy? eventhough and Cadillac is a luxury car, and they say that the Avalon a near-luxury vehicle. which one is a better buy?

A: The Cadillac is a clear winner. The resale is also a determining factor. Avalons, out of all the Toyota’s have a poor resell value. I have driven both and the Cadillac also rode smoother on a long trip. The Avalon started making me car sick after 2 hours.

Q: How do I connect my new IPOD Nano to my factory car stereo?
I have a 2003 Cadillac Deville DTS. How do I connect my new IPOD Nano to the factory car stereo? I know that I can purchase gadgets that will play it through radio frequency. I want the highest sound quality though. Is there a way to do this without spending a fortune on a whole new IPOD-friendly stereo? Suggestions please. Thanks.

A: Without a specific IPOD input jack you are pretty much out of luck. The aftermarket adapters significantly degrade the already poor quality of the signal generated by the IPOD unit. If you plan to keep your Cadillac for awhile and wnat to listen to your IPOD through the car speakers, I’d suggest that you have a new radio installed. They are really not that expensive.

Q: Stereo for my 2003 Cadillac DTS?
I am tired of lugging around CD’s. I have a new IPOD and there is no auxiliary jack on my stock stereo system. I do not want to go through radio frequency because of the poor sound quality. What IPOD-friendly stereo would work best for me? I am looking for something not too expensive and not look too gaudy. I am thinking a “double din” stereo would fit nice, no?

A: Yes I believe you can fit a double din… I would go with anything pioneer… They work great with iPods, and are the best for the money… Maybe a AVH-P3100DVD… Should be able to find something like this for pretty cheap on ebay or even best buy or something…

Q: Cadillac Deville DTS has bouncy ride and leaks power steering fluid?
I recently had new stabilizer pins put on my 2002 Cadillac Deville DTS. I thought that would take care of the problem but I still get the following error codes “Service Stability System” and “Service Suspension System.” I also notice that every few days I have to refill the power steering tank, I can hear the pump squealing when it’s empty but I’m not sure if it’s the pump or a leak in the hose. Any thoughts on either problem?

A: If your ride is bouncy then that is a likely sign that you need new shocks and/or struts. You could possibly need springs as well, but I would service the Shocks and Struts first.

Also, since you know you are leaking fluid somewhere, refill the tank, park the car, and then periodically look at the ground underneath the front of your car. where ever you see a puddle of fluid is a good indicator of where it is leaking from. Then observe the under chassis of the car directly above the puddle to see if you can spot dripping fluid. might need a flash light, lol.

Q: Cadillac DTS vs. Dodge Charger/Challenger?
I’ve been looking at new cars, and it seems the 8 cyl. Hemi Chargers and Challengers have about 100 more horsepower than the 8 cyl. Caddy DTS, and costs significantly less. I know the Caddy is more of a luxury car, but is it really worth the extra money?

A: No the Cadillac is not worth the extra money. A Charger R/T will be a nice vehicle for you, it is built on a Mercedes platform, and has a Mercedes transmission.

And Chrysler is not going anywhere. They had worse financial problems in the 80’s and survived just fine.

Q: My 2002 Cadillac DTS died at 96k miles!?
I have a ‘02 DTS and i have taken very good care of it. Oil change every 3k and a tune up every 15k. I just had the catalytic converter replaced about a month ago and now my car’s engine needs replaced. I bought the car brand new back in 2001 so it has only one owner. How did the engine go bad. I cant believe this. Any suggestions?

A: cars die. some earlier then others. im kind of suprised though. my father has a Cadillac and that thing is still running like new at 400k

Q: I’m looking to buy a new Cadillac?
What’s the difference between the STS, CTS, DTS, and SLS, and which is the best?

A: I’m not a connoisseur for Cadillacs but I do know that the DTS is a big and powerful sedan, with the Northstar V8. The CTS is, in my opinion, one of the sleekest looking mid-sized cars around.

The others I don’t really know much about. They are Cadillacs though so they’re nice cars. Just go to Wikipedia and type in the names and you’ll see what they are like.

Q: I have a 00 Cadillac DTS,its not wanting to crank.Whats wrong with it?
It started out with the key not wanting to come out or turn the ignition switch. So I put it in the shop, where they put a new ignition switch on it.Now it will turn the switch, but want crank. Finally I was told that my computer in the car needed flashing,I had that done and it still won’t crank.

A: It sounds like they put in the ignition lock, the ignition switch is completely different. There are too many possibilities which could cause your problem. I don’t know who said you needed your computer flashed. If it was the same people who put in your lock they maybe giving you the run around, which upsets me. You need a good mechanic to check this out for you, with the proper knowledge and tools its not that difficult to find the cause, there’s just too many possibilities to describe. Hope you know the difference between cranking and starting, that’s totally different.

Q: Cadillac STS OR DTS?
im looking on buying a cadillac again in the not too distant future (6 maybe 8 months from now) …. i had a 1999 Deville a few years ago and i miss it…. ALOT… im not sure but i think the DTS model is the newer Deville type model…. but i also like the longer front end of the STS….i know out of the 2 the DTS looks more like a Deville… but i want the more “luxurious” one… i think they both have V6 models too which is a plus…. which one would you get… the DTS or STS… and WHY????? thanks in advance…(im looking at ‘05 or higher)…

A: If you had a 99 Deville the 05 Deville 06+DTS would be most like the one you had- meaning northstar power and front wheel drive. The 05+ STS is a rear drive car that comes with 3.6VVT V6 or Northstar. Both are nice cars- they each have their own handling characteristics- DTS being smooth while STS handles a bit better. If you’re looking for mileage the Northstar gets better mileage in the STS than the V6 version does. The motor doesn’t have to work as hard to propel the nearly 2 ton car- the V6 has to push harder and burn more gas. EPA rating on the window sticker was 24mpg on V6 and 26mph on N* on highway. Both are great cars and I have some of each avaialble whenever you’re ready!

Q: How can the the new Cadillac coupe be called a CTS Coupe? Catera Touring Sedan Coupe!? Makes no sense to me.?
To my understanding I’ve known the “TS” to stand for touring sedan in the Cadillac line up. An example would be the STS: Seville Touring Sedan and the CTS: Catera(I believe) Touring Sedan. How can Cadillac’s new coupe be called a Touring Sedan Coupe? Should’nt the car be called the CTC??? After all they did have an ETC: Eldorado Touring Coupe

A: CTS doesn’t mean Catera Touring Sedan, it more-or-less means C-series Touring Sedan. If you use that name, then CTS coupe and CTS wagon don’t make much sense. But, if you just think of the car as the CTS, then it’s fine.

Remember, back in the day they used STS and ETC after the car name, so it was Seville Seville-Touring-Sedan (Seville STS) and Eldorado Eldorado-Touring-Coupe (Eldorado ETC), so it didn’t make sense then either.

Q: What is the song from the new cadillac commercial?
Its the commercial for the 2010 Cadillac CTS-V????
HELP PLEASE!

A: Psychic City by YACHT

Q: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V – Is this a good car to buy?
Has anyone seen or know anything about the new Cadillac CTS-V?
I was watching a video on the northwest cadillac site (http://www.mycadillacstorynw.com) and there was a women at the Seattle Seahawks – Cadillac Reserve Club talking about it.

It looks cool..but is it expensive? Are you better off getting a fully loaded 2009 Cadillac CTS or at least waiting for the 2010 Cadillac CTS coupe? Does anyone own the 2008 that could make any recommendations?

My mistake, the site was

http://www.mycadillacstorynw.com

A: WOW! What a car! It is the best Cadillac out there! It runs on a Supercharged and intercooled OHC V-8. It uses the small block V-8 that the new Corvette ZR-1 has. The CTS-V has 556 horsepower coming out of its huge 6.2 liter V-8. The Caddy can hit 0-60 in 4.5 seconds with a manual transmission and 4.4 seconds with an automatic transmission! With a manual it can hit 191 in 6th gear! All of this for a Starting price of about $60,000, I think that is a bargain for what it is! It is the fastest production sedan. It is also faster (and cheaper) than a BMW M5 and a Mercedes Benz E56 AMG! (I may have gotten the numbers wrong on the Benz) Check it out on automobilemag.com or motortrend.com, they have both driven it and loved it, there are also pictures and videos about the V. Don’t buy a regular CTS when you can get it all!! And, don’t wait for the coupe, sure it has a package that can get 545 hp, but the V is nicer, more luxurious and more practical! Plus it will be close to the price (Fully stocked) of the CTS-V, also the V is faster by a landslide! Go for it!

Q: Alarm System on My Cadillac Cts 2009 won’t work! Help?
Hi,
I bought the brand new Cadillac CTS 2009
4 months ago. Recently someone in my building have been damaging my car. Like, making small – medium dents on my car and the alarm won’t sound. The twisted my mirror and it still won’t sound, too. I don’t know what to do. I live in Dubai, UAE. The car is only used for up to 5000 kilometers – 3106 miles. It’s not a lot. I don’t know what to do. Should I go back to the dealer? It feels like anyone can steal my car, break it into pieces and the alarm still won’t work…
When I had my car in USA just if you just touch it the alarm works.
Please give me some advice…

Thanks for helping!

A: That’s what you get for buying an American car.

Q: Which new car is faster, the Cadillac CTS-V, or the Audio RS4?

A: The CTS-V is faster from a roll. Look at the MPH at the end of the 1/4 mile.

The RS$ is faster off the line because of its all wheel drive.

Q: For those of you who own a Cadillac CTS-V, not the new design but the 06 and down; how much does it cost…?
How much does it cost to fill up a tank of gas?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Do you have terrible XM reception in a Cadillac CTS?
I have a new CTS with Bose option. TERRIBLE XM recption (wy wife’s Pontiac has crystal clear). Complained to the dealership and was told there was a TSB on the issue. Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks for the answer. The TSB is unrelated to the SAT problems – it’s a radio problem.

A: I’m sorry you’re having issues with your CTS. If there is a TSB there should be a recommended repair. Call the service manager of the dealership and have him go over the TSB for you. If they give you any trouble call Cadillac at 800-333-4223. They will help you out. If the dealer has tried to fix it and can’t, make sure they called technical assistance for help figuring out the problem. Good luck

Q: Buying a new car tomorrow, 2010 Cadillac cts-v or a 2010 Nissan Gtr premium?
I have test drive both cars already and they all seem to have good speed and handling, but I’m worry about the maintenance/gas in the future. Also note to that I’ll be using the car for weekend drive only about 5-15miles. I’m not marry therefore I have no need to worry about spaces. Also I don’t race with these cars just to use around to cruise in the city.

Anyone own any of these two, would want to give me a head up about them?

I need reasonable answers; I don’t want a bunch of answers that say pick this one.

A: If that is really going to be your usage pattern I think you’re being rather foolish to buy a car at all. Weekend rentals can be surprisingly cheap and you may be able to negotiate an even better price on annual contract by guaranteeing to rent a certain number of weekends. It will cost you less than buying, you can choose a different car every weekend, and next year or the year after you’ll be driving a new car rather than a two or thee year old one.

If you don’t want to rent you should look into a lease with a low mileage limit.

Q: GM goes bankrupt. Do prices of new Cadillac cars go down at the dealership?
Hey guys. I”ve been patiently waiting to buy my dream car. Cadillac CTS-V. I’ve been catching up on the news and it looks like GMs going to file bankruptcy. Should i wait to purchase the cts-v so prices go down, however the local creepy salesman is pressuring me to buy now because “Caddilac prices will stay as is even if GM goes under.”

A: Bankruptcy doesn’t mean GM will “go under”. That seems to be a common fallacy on here. GM will continue business as usual even if they do file for bankruptcy protection. Bankruptcy might actually strengthen GM in the long run.

Prices have and always will be based on demand. If the CTS-V continues to sell well, there is no reason to drop the price on it.

Q: 2003 Cadillac sts or cts good first car?
I can get one used with 130,000 miles from a close friends grandma. Also the car has been well maintained with regular checkups. I am not sure which brand it is though. Its not the new cadillac sedans taht are advertised everywhere. But i have read that they have maintenence problems. So im wondering if $2000 is worth spending on this car. What do you think? Also senior in highschool so looking for this deal to get me through college.

A: Get the exact model & engine type and vin and search them online.

Duno if it has the GM Northstar engine, but they’r know for bad head gaskets, an expensive fix.

Take it to a Caddy dealer and have em check it, including a pressure test on the cooling system to get an idea of the head gaskets.

Check on those checkups: who did what.

$2k is a good price.

As for a car making you look like Big Man on Campus, prob 1/2 the students are biking or walking.

Dont buy anything w/o Consumer Reports.

Q: Do you think the new cts style is nicer than the 02? Links provided plz help. I think the new one is too bulk?
new style cts

http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://image.gmhightechperformance.com/f/9101104/0704gm_02_z%2B2005_cadillac_cts%2B.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gmhightechperformance.com/features/0704gm_2005_cadiallac_cts_v/photo_02.html&usg=__VkFQ_xjKi0qQExqMTbYZAqS8cUU=&h=480&w=640&sz=58&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=44KmghyOMKpoJM:&tbnh=156&tbnw=231&prev=/images%3Fq%3D02%2Bcts%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1126%26bih%3D623%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C56&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=823&vpy=207&dur=71&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=116&ty=71&ei=r7ALTY3aGMe_nAecxMnjDQ&oei=r7ALTY3aGMe_nAecxMnjDQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0&biw=1126&bih=623

A: The new CTS is a far better looking car than the previous generation. It is also vastly improved in every way. The fit and finish both inside and outside of the vehicles is worlds better than the vehicle it replaced. The handling characteristics are more stable and on center, and the power is delivered more smoothly. Previously the CTS was just another also ran in the entry lux segment. Now, it is a serious challenger for any of the European and Asian competition.

Q: Why is Cadillac false advertising with the CTS? They are making it look fast, but it really isn’t.?
Not to mention the fact that it’s a Cadillac, a prettied up GM product that will inevitably show it’s lack of quality within a year or two along with huge losses via depreciation because it’s an American made piece of Junk. I mean come on! My Acura TL is faster than the new CTS and it’s not even meant to be a really fast car. Unless you want to pay for the CTS-V an even bigger waste of money, you can’t consider this car fast.

A: Aren’t ALL commercials false advertising, at least to some degree? I mean, everything is perfect, the best, will last forever, etc. according to commercials for the product.

Q: i want to buy a new car but i dont know which one? what would be best 08 cadillac cts,bmw 3 series,or x3???

A: Both vechicles are great choices, however I think the new Cadillac CTS is a better vehicle than the BMW. I have driven both and although the BMW can have some exotic options, the CTS is a more practical car and won “JD Power’s Car of th Year” award for a reason. Everyone has their own opinions, so I would test drive both and compare which you like better. Good luck.

Q: On a Cadillac CTS (2003) How do you change the trunk Strut?
One of my trunk struts broke off and I do not see any means of taking off the old part and replace it with a new one.

A: Just “pops” on and off.

Q: Where can I get a Cadillac CTS-v NAV for my cts 2004?
I want a brand new one and is it possible to fit the nav on the cts noting that the nav is for the CTS V ?

A: You get the original only at the dealer.

It would be cheaper to get a small aftermarket unit. They sell them everywhere (Radio Shack, Sears, Circuit city, etc.)

Good Luck…

Q: What size are the stock speakers in a 1998 Subaru WRX?
I have a 1998 Subaru WRX with stock speakers, 1 is blown and another is getting close, can anyone tell me what size the stock speakers are so I can go buy some new ones?

A: Contact www.crutchfield.com and talk free of charge to an expert. He will has answers and recommendations to what will fit and what won’t.

Q: How long does a subaru wrx last?
I am looking at making a purchase on a new car. I have wanted a subaru wrx for a very long time and I am finally able to afford a used one. I see many of them that have high milage. Ranges from 90,000 to 170,000. I was wondering how long these cars last? and if it would be a wise purchase?

A: What a great choice in car you will not go wrong with a subaru, if you plan to thrash it about everywhere you go it will be very costly and will not last long, but if you respect it and drive it it will last forever, lol incase you have not guessed I looooooooooove them go on get a subaru you will not regret it.

Q: How much Horse Power does a stock turbo 03 Subaru WRX have?
I have a 2003 Subaru WRX stock turbo with 14psi and I have no idea how much Horse Power it has.

A: Rated at 227HP.

Q: Will a 2003 Subaru WRX turbo engine fit into my 2002 Subaru Legacy GT?
The engine in my 2002 Subaru Legacy GT Limited blew a head gasket, and now I am looking for a new engine. I found a 2003 WRX turbo engine that sounds great, but I don’t know if the two engines can be interchangable between the two vehicles. Thanks for any help!

A: The 2.5L engine in your Legacy and a 2.0L engine from the WRX are virtually identical. There are a couple problems though. One is your Legacy is heavier than a standard WRX, so you will not gain a huge amount of performance, and you will lose some fuel economy. Also, you would need to change several things including the exhaust, instrument cluster, engine management to have it run correctly. Also, with that, it would be much cheaper to replace a head gasket than a whole engine. A head gasket is $60, and labor on a head gasket would be about 4-5 hours at $90/hr. A complete good engine for a WRX is about $2500, plus 8-12 hours labor at $90/hr.

Q: How can i get 500 horsepower out of a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX?
I just bought a 2002 subaru wrx,its 5 speed and i wold like to get at least 500 ponnies out of it,what all do i need?thanks

A: Supercharger??? Dude Above me please retract your statement. Anyway I had 300 out of my 02 WRX and it was fast. 12.9 @ 103 mph.

You want 500, your going to need more than me.
• Turbo Back Exhaust
• Catless Up pipe
• Unequal Length Header
• Bigger Turbo (Blouch 20G, 30R, 35R)
• Injectors
• Walbro 255 Fuelpump
• Cams, Pistons, Fresh Plugs
• Intake
• Tune (Cobb Accessport or TurboXS Utec along with a proper tune by a Shop)
• Meth Injection
• Nitrous (if you want)

Theres more to it, but that list should get you started. Also with having the WRX PLEASE, PLEASE Invest in a PPG Transmission (Pfitzner Straight Cut Dog Box Trans) Or else you will be blowing your trans up easy. The 02-03 Trans are nicknamed “Glassbox Trans” because they break.

Good Luck and maybe email me or something and Ill show you pics of my Bugeye that I had before It was totaled by a Deer. Im about to buy a 05 STi now.

Q: How much would insurance for a Subaru Impreza WRX be?
I am getting my license very soon and I plan on getting an 02 Subaru Impreza WRX for my first car. I am curious to know what will be the monthly cost of my insurance (an estimate). I will be on my parents insurance and they have Liberty Mutual. I know that the WRX has one of the highest insurance rates but I want to know if it will be doable or not. Thanks in advanced.

A: It depends on variables. If you decide to get insurance with it, go with Liberty Mutual they give you Subaru safety discounts.

The wrx will be expensive to insure, but not as expensive as the STI.
I pay around 127/month for my Sti
no tickets or accidents.

Q: What’s better to get, 2007 subaru impreza wrx or a 2008?
im planning on getting a subaru impreza wrx and i like em both but which one would be better and would i have more fun with. I heard they made some changes in the 08 so im not sure.

A: Same engine and TD04 turbo in both cars. I always say newer the better but it’s going to be your car so your decision.

Q: does anyone know the differnce between a version 7 subaru wrx to a versions seven subaru 20k?
we are looking at buying a subaru impreza wrx and we are looking at 2 version 7 subaru imprezas and one is a wrx and one is a 20k but both turbo can anyone tell me if they are different in any way

A: I assume you are not in America. Our versions are quite different.

You may want to check out:

www.northursalia.com

He has a lot of interesting things. Look under Tech Docs.

Q: Can you have a Subaru wrx sedan but not an sti edition?
I want the wrx but not the sti, not that into rallying but I want a powerful awd car.

A: Yes.

There are different versions of the Impreza.

Non-Turbo
WRX – Turbo
WRX – Turbo plus some premium features
WRX STi – Turbo, faster, xtras

Q: Would a Subaru WRX be just as good as a STI with some slight modifications?
If i modified a WRX with a performence exhaust system, cold air intake, and some sport suspensions would it be just as good as an STI?

A: Forget the cold air intake; add exhaust, tune, and suspension and you’re probably 90% of an STi…except for brakes.

Q: can i put subaru wrx parts in liberty?
my boyfriend has a subaru liberty lx ‘96 model and needs to replace his rear shocks as they are leaking and not working. he has found shocks for a subaru wrx and doesn’t know if they can be used in a liberty, any advise please? can any other parts from other models be used as well?

A: No, he can not use those. It’s a different chassis. If you are ordering from the internet, that same vehicle is called the Legacy in the US.

Q: what would u guys choose between a subaru wrx and a commodore ss?
One of my mates wants a comfortable and reliable car that he will use to go to work or hang around with his girlfriend. He can’t seem to choose between a 2003 wrx and an 2004 commodore ss.I haven’t driven any of those , I am driving an evo IX at the moment. We went for a drive and both of them were pretty good.I’d just like to know which one is more reliable from u guys who have actually driven those cars and what are your opinions

A: subaru wrx
i have good taste in car . .
actually I’m collecting action figure including cars ..
^_^

Q: How much do subaru wrx engine cost?
I have a 2002 wrx, and I think I need a new engine, How much would a used engine cost ?

A: It really depends on how much of the engine you need. Are the heads still god or not? For a short block, I have seen them for sale in the NASIOC classifieds for about $500 running. They are about $1500 new from Subaru. If yo need the heads too, it might run closer to $1000 used and $2500 new. Labor will run about $1500 for a short block R&R. If you need heads too and they need to be assembled, it will be more. So in short the answer to your question is between $500 to $5000.

Q: 2000’s Subaru WRX insurance info for a 20 year old in ct?
Hello I’m looking into purchasing either a 2002 or 2004 Subaru WRX. I live in Connecticut i am 20, have had my license for 2 years with no accidents or tickets. I would like to see what others are paying in insurance. I have to figure out car payments/insurance rates. I would prefer people from Connecticut but i would also like to see some rates from other states! Please help!

A: The only answer I can give you is to call around for insurance and go to a web site like www.bankrate.com and use the auto loan calculator to see what payments would be. I have a feeling that being 20 years old and purchasing a fairly sporty car is going to give you insurance shock.

Q: How do you like your MY08 Subaru WRX?
Failing that – how do you like THE MY08 Subaru WRX. I test drove the other day and thought it was awesome and much better than my MY03. I was surprised.

And please answer my girlfriend too … is it a gay handbag?

A: i love it too.. MY08 is kicking ass… i have driven it too, and it is so much more fun cos its lighter, and engine is lower again too, so yeah, i love it!

Q: How much would it cost to supercharge a f150?
I have a 2008 f150 xl 4.2 l and I want to get some power at my feet. So I am wonderinng how much it would cost to supercharge it. Or turbo charge it. Which one is better? What do you guys think

A: neither one is necessarily better. it just depends on preference. a turbocharger runs off the exhaust of your car, a down fall to running off exhaust though is that you have to wait for it to build up, so you will have some turbo lag. im not sure how much turbos are but a supercharger is usually around $5,000 new. but i think this link explains stuff better, hope this helps!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercharger

Q: I’m looking at getting a ford f150 without crumple zones. what year did they start adding them?
I figure with my good driving record, I won’t be hitting anything solid, so I’m willing to risk it to keep my truck from being irreparably destroyed. Had too many vehicles break and need something stronger as far as the body goes. I figured a mid-80’s f150 diesel would do it. Your suggestions welcome.

A: It will be hard to find any type of 1/2 ton pick up diesel. Try a 3/4 or 1 ton.

Q: How does the F150 get over 21mpg, yet the ranger cant?
I don’t understand the logic. Even without the Ecoboost engine, the 3.7 F150 gets what 21 or 22mpg? Yet the ranger, with less power, torque AND less curb weight can’t do better? Would ford just drop the 3.7 in it already and have a really fast, efficient ranger? Btw I make an exception for the 4cyl, I know it gets 26, but it’s the least powerful engine.

A: actually 3.7 rated at 23 mpg by epa with customers getting better than that already. But to answer your question, it is my understanding that the 3.7 in the f150 is primarily to bring the ranger people into an f150. I hard Ford is eventually going to phase out the Ranger, at least in America in addition to the explorer sport track. Again the thought is to put them in the entry level f150.

Q: Will an engine out of a different year Ford F150 work in my 1991?
My nephew blew my engine. It had 91,000 miles on it. What I want to know is, are 5.0’s out of other year F150’s compatible with the 1991?

A: They don’t change engine’s every year, so it is possible the engine from another year F150 will fit your truck. They usually offer more than one engine in a given model from the same year. The ONLY correct answer is we need to know what engine you have to say what engine will fit.

Q: What is the largest tire size that can go on a stock 1977 f150 custom, 4×4, with no lift?
I just go a 1977 f150 custom 4 wheel drive. I want to make it ride a little higher but do not want to put any kind of lift kits on it. Just looking to make the tires a little larger, it has 29 or 30s on it now and i have about a 5 inch clearance around the fenders. I do not want stupid answers like 40s.

A: 31’s -33’s depending on the current state of the suspension.

Q: What is the correct torque specs for a 2002 f150 rear diff cover bolts?
I am changing the gasket on my 2002 f150 crew cab. I have the big v8 engine and for the life of me cannot find the torque specs for the rear diff cover bolts.

A: Snug and a little.
Or three finger pull on a ratchet.

Q: What color is the reverse light wire in a 2004 F150?
Is there a reverse light wire in the drivers kick panel on a 2004 F150? What color is it? I need to tap into it for a back up camera install.

A: Black with a white tracer.

Q: can I use a 1993 F150 XL to pull a 28ft prowler 5th wheel for camping our do I need to buy a larger pickup?
I have a 1993 F150 straight six can I use it to pull a 28ft prowler 5th wheel for camping or do I need to buy a larger pickup?

A: I used a 99 GMC Z-71 to pull a 28′ 5th wheel. The only modifications that I made was to install another ‘overload’ spring so that the truck was level when towing. Bought the truck ‘new’ it only had 5K miles, towed maybe 8-9k miles, and traded the truck with 155K in 03. Never had any problems with the truck, and the 2nd owner has never complained about any problems, he still drives it as a farm truck so it sure doesnt get pampered. I know that I exceeded the weight rating for the half ton PU, but I couldnt afford the 3/4 – 1 ton, so you adapt and overcome.

Q: How to install an amp and a subwoofer in a 2005 f150?
I have an amp and a sub at home and i want to know how to properly install them in my 2005 f150 please give details thanks
is there any reprocutions i need to take?

A: First, figure out where you want to mount the amp and subs. Screw them down and move on to wiring.

There are only four wires that you have to worry about for the initial installation. Power, remote, ground and preamp/signal.

The power will be connected to the positive terminal of the battery and routed through the car to the positive terminal on the amp. This wire should have a fuse within eighteen inches of the battery.

The remote will start at either the remote/power antenna wire on the back of the head unit or you can splice into the 12 volt ignition wire for the radio, if you have a stock radio. Route this through the car to the remote terminal on the amp.

The preamp cables will be connected to the preamp output on the back of the stereo or a line out converter. Once again, you will have to route this through the car, to the amplifier. Connect them to the preamp input on the amp.

Finally, the ground will have to be bolted to the chassis of the car. Use as short a run of wire as possible and connect it to the ground terminal on the amplifier.

There you have it. At this point the amp should turn on and have a signal. But, the amp will not make sound until you connect the speakers to it. There are really too many possible wiring options to put all of them in my answer. I could however help if I knew what type/brand of amp and speakers that you are planning on using.

Feel free to email me through my profile if you need more info.

Q: What size Tires and rims should i put on a 2003 F150 with a 3 inch body lift?
I am going to install a 3 inch body lift on a 2003 F150, and i want bigger BLACK rims and wide, off road tires. What sizes should i get?

A: There’s a limit with the drive train gearing.
usually the factory is pretty smart and picks the best diameter for the gearing.
Nothing else matters.

You do know going larger diameter makes the entire system less power and needs more power to keep up on the freeway then needs more fuel.

There is no winning this one unless you change the rear end gears.
Changing gears now makes the larger tires the same as if they were stock.
If you towed a trailer in the past, you will notice it’s more work.

Just line up stock wheel and tire up to the wheels & tires you want and don’t go past a 1/2″ more in height.

Q: How do I fix my dash paint from coming off in my f150?
In my 2001 f150, the paint on my dash keeps chipping off in many different parts. I have never seen this happen in any of my other trucks. This makes it look extremely bad on the inside!! How can I repair/fix it?

A: my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop…

Q: How can i improve performance on my 2004 F150?
I have a 04 F150 5.4L V8 4×4. The truck has a lot of power and a BIG motor but come on, its really really SLOW. I have determined that I like the truck, dont want to sell it, and probably will not tow much to anything as it turns out. So where would you start and what will REALLY make a difference in performance?

A: Best thing you can do is put a performance chip in it. It is a cheap and effective way to get much better power and even fuel mileage especially out of those F150s.

Q: Can Someone Tell me how to equip my F150 with ramps for snowmobile and Quad?
Hi I, just purchased a new F150, with the regular cab, 6 1/2 foot box. Can you please tell me what ramp set up is the best for loading and unloading a snowmobile and quad? I will be hauling a travel trailer with it as well. Can you include some instructional diagrams and or videos/pictures?

Thanks very much folks!

A: Well now, you have a problem. You went and bought a Pu with a wimpy little short box. I don’t know about your sled but mine is nearly 9 ft long from ski tips to back bumper. If you load the sled at bed level lengthwise you are likely to have contact with the tongue jack or propane tanks on your travel trailer. There are systems where a deck above the bed rails is used to load quads crossways but loads over 8 ft wide are illegal in most states if not all. Might work with your quad, but unlikely to solve the sled problem. You might have to consider extending the trailer hitch or bumper to accommodate the sled while towing the trailer. Solutions would be much easier if you had the insight to have gotten a Pu with an 8 ft bed. Here in Idaho we have a great snowmobile magazine, “SnoWest” perhaps an email to them can help you with loading systems ideas. www.SnoWest.com

Q: How to check the transmission fluid in a 1997 Ford F150?
I can’t find a dipstick on my truck to check the fluid. It’s a 2wd 4.6 liter F150. Any help will be greatly appreciated. It is an automatic.

A: The transmission dipstick should have a yellow handle with the letters “TRANS” on it to help you identify it. It will be located on the passenger side of the engine towards the back near the firewall.

Start it and wait for the engine to reach operating temperature, as indicated by the temperature gauge.

Put your foot firmly on the brake pedal and shift the transmission through each gear, one at a time, allowing the transmission to register each gear before returning the shifter to park.

Open the hood and pull the transmission dipstick out, wipe it off with the rag and then put it back into the dipstick tube completely.

Pull the dipstick back out and check the fluid level. It should be a nice, pink color and stop somewhere in the crosshatched section of the dipstick’s tip. If the fluid is dark in coloration, has signs of debris in it or doesn’t reach well into the crosshatch, consider having the transmission serviced as soon as possible.

Q: What is causing my jacked up f150 front passenger side suspension to pop and tire to sit slanted?
The front end pops rapidly. and the tire will sometimes be straight when I park and somtimes it will be slanted. If I park and it’s straight I can turn the wheel until it pops and it will then be slanted.

also truck is a 1994 f150 extended cab
5.8
12 in or 9 in lift
rebuilt transfer case
38 in tires

A: Probably ball joints that are shot. 38 in tires are a stretch for a 1/2 ton suspension.
