I have a 1989 ford f-150 and need a low pressure fuel pump. I have a low pressure pump from a 1993 ford f-150 can i use it on the 1989 f-150?
A: there’s like four different engines available for a 150 in ‘89. different pumps.
so u want the in-tank pump.
go to http://www.rockauto.com/
plug in your vehicle info, and go to fuel/air, then fuel pump. find the replacement pump for in-tank, click on the part #.
a pop-up will appear showing all other apps. those r the vehicles u can steal pumps from.
Q: 1991 ford f-150 manual transmission engine will wind out but truck will barely move?
It all started when my stepson kicked the 5-speed shifter towards the drivers side now i can’t get it moving more than 15mph it also makes a loud noise. The clutch is fine,i bled it.
A: Clutch cannot be engaging fully. Maybe the linkage was damaged with the kick to where the throwout bearing is now damaged?
I know when the throwout bearing is on its way out, it will make a loud noise.
If your clutch was not working properly at any point during this, Your clutch plate probably got glazed over & is now slipping.

After you shut the engine off there is something that keeps running and killing the battery. The ABS light is on and there is a whining noise coming front the front drivers side engine compartment. What is making this?
A: Try locating the fuse for the ABS system. The light will remain on, but if the whining stops, then obviously it is related, and there is a motor in that area, and it may be that it is in need of replacement. The other method is to take it to a tech and have the codes read.
Q: Can I remove 1989 Ford F-150 front fuel tank and run on rear only?
My long wheelbase 1989 Ford F-150 appears to be leaking fuel at the top of the front fuel tank. There’s plenty of fuel pressure, so I think the fuel pumps are all good and maybe the only problem is a bad gasket, fuel line, or fuel line connection. Can I remove the front tank, plug its fuel line, and then run on the rear tank only? A Ford dealership service guy told me he’s not sure, but that maybe the rear tank pumps first to the front tank, which means I’d have to make a new fuel line connection to the rear tank and maybe get a higher pressure pump for the rear tank. Before I drop the front tank and have to use my bike, anybody know what’s what and what to do? This side of mechanicsville, that is! Thanks!
A: yes you can run on rear tank only. but i would not drop the front tank. i would find the leak, and repair it. that will be less work and less costs in the long run. from experience in owning ford trucks with duel tanks for over 30years.

i just bought a 4×4 95 ford f150 for plowing this winter, but it notied a puddle of gas under the truck shortly after i filled it, can i repair this myself?! or is it a huge problem?
A: you don’t try and repair one that’s leaking ,unless its just a leak at the filler neck hose or leaking from on the top where someone has replaced a pump and didn’t get it sealed off good,if its got a hole in it replace it,those aren’t that expensive to replace,repairing one is dangerous,good luck.

Both are V8s. The Mustang would be faster, but how much? Double the acceleration? Or is it just top speed fast-wise?

A: Buddy, My ‘01 Taurus (3.0 liter 24 Valve V6 with 200hp) is a heck of a lot fast than my dad’s ‘97 F-150 (4.6 liter V8 210 hp). The ‘97 Mustang I believe was rated at 210 hp and was a 4.6 liter, which is the same as the F-150. The Mustang would beat the F-150 in both acceleration and top speed. The Mustang is lighter and more aerodynamic. The V6 Mustang was rated at 150hp. I would guess because of the weight difference it would also be faster than the F-150.
Q: What model ford f-150 should i get to build a prerunner?

A: get an extended cab short bed 4.6L Triton V8. a 1999-2003 model year will be cheaper and better. that truck was built for anything

Q: Is it possible for a spare tire underneath my 2007 Ford F-150 to be causing a low pressure warning?
I never heard of such a thing, but a friend told me its true. All the tires are less than a year old and don’t seem to be leaking air. I’ve been getting the message for over a week now. Thanks for your response.
A: Maybe, maybe not. I know some vehicles with tire pressure warning system do have a sensor in all five wheels.
The sensor must all send the same pressure but even one wheel showing a two PSI difference will show the alarm.

How do I get the hood open? How do I get the hood release lever to work again?
A: Does the cable have slack and feel as though it’s not pulling on anything?If so, the latching mechanism is stuck and won’t budge.Have someone hold the lever in the release position while you wiggle the hood,pressing it down and lifting it up.It may even be necessary to pry it upward with a lever of some sort.Wedge it from side to side the same way.Once open shoot the parts with oil.

A: === the better tire stores have a good choice of rims — try to stick with the factory size of the tires and the tire counter will help you with that — the on board computer is factory set for a couple of tire dimensions ….. Sears, Firestone, Goodrich .. and the local junk yard will have lots to choose … I do suggest that you price a few places before you go to the j-yards so you know if that’s a good or not..

Appraise the car there. As for its value it is not going to be worth much more than a normal F-150. Its not a classic but it might be nicer and worth more to the right person.

It is already leveled out, but I want to add a 6 inch kit to the suspension.
A: well i would use a jack as these are heavy but really it would depend on the year as to what this would entail and how much work it would be
you would a way to support the truck while working and some air tools but plenty of peopl have accomplished it so good luck

It is a 4 wheel drive. What all do you have to take off to remove it?
A: I believe it is an internal oring and you may need to replace the mount which should solve the problem, this is a really good question for the parts counter at a dealer, you might even want to go look at the one in the box at the dealer, because then you will know for sure what you need to do, mine had an o ring, my mechanic just replace the whole mount, which was pretty inexpensive, but it was a different year than yours so do a little more research figure out what is the best option, the parts guys at ford can help good luck hope this helps
