Q: What is a good manual transmission to install on a fox body mustang witha 351 Windsor stroker?
Building a 351 Windsor stroker for a fox body mustang. What is a good drivetrain combination. What transmission is stronger than the original t5 that would fit easily. What kind of clutch and differential gears would be best to preform and last. Stroker would be a 408,418or 427. Thank you

A: A Tremec would be a good choice. See if they make a bellhousing for a 302/351W/351C for a T56 out of a Cobra. I have built a bulletproof AOD for my 89 351W pro street mustang. My car was originally a T5 and it did not last and neither did the C4.

Q: Where can I get my Mustang turbocharged?
I know nothing about cars but I have an 09 Mustang GT that I want to get turbocharged. I looked through the phonebook and there are a lot of “service and repair” garages but can they usually do turbos too? Or are there specialty shops for that? Do I need to buy my own parts before taking it in or do some shops already have the parts or can they order for me?
Yes, my engine is still stock. How can I tell if it is able to handle the extra horsepower?

A: Just for your information you will EASILY be looking at spending $20,000+ for this project. If you have that kind of scratch laying around to just “turbo” a brand new car, then you should have the know-how and ingenuity to find a custom builder on your own. I suggest finding a mustang forum and going from there or researching turbocharged mustangs.

Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Q: How should i go about trying to fit mustang rims on to a chevelle?
i was recently given brand new mustang rims as a gift, but the mustang has a 4.5 inch bolt pattern and the chevelle has a 4.75 inch bolt pattern. Should i drill the holes bigger (do u have any tips to do this) or are there adapters available to get them to fit

A: Not the best thing to do… But…
Measure the center hole for both wheels.. If the Ford hole is the same or smaller you can make them work.. If center holed in ford wheels are smaller then you can enlarge it to the right size..

The wheels locates of the center hole, not the studs…

Then you can drill the lug holes in the ford wheels out some, use a lug nut the right lenght with a washer and it will work fine.

Q: How much for a new 07 mustang with Ford discount?
My dad is a ford employee and says I can use his A plan. I found a mustang that I like for about 20K online and it because it’s such a new car, they are offering a $1,500 rebate until october 1 this year.

How much would it cost for me?

Mom says I’ll need to also buy full coverage insurance if I want to finance the car.

A: Ask your dad.

Too much, it is a Ford

Q: How can I manually deflate a Mustang power lumbar support?
The lumbar support in a 2005 Mustang will not deflate. It was inflated completely and the driver held the inflate button down until a series of “clicks” were heard. Now, when pressing the switch either way, the motor can be heard spinning, but nothing happens.

A: disconnect the air line under drivers seat. have to remove the seat

Q: How much is a 1968 restored mustang worth?
I work at a grocery store, and im not that much into cars. But I know enough to know when I see a beautiful car. So I was walking in to the store to start my shift, and I walked by a beautiful restored 1968 mustang painted a gorgeous bright grass green. I noticed it was for sale, and the price was only 13,050! Am I wrong for thinking thats an insanely LOW price?

A: Very good price. is it a fastback or notch back? if it is a fastback, then the price is crazy low.

Q: Is a 1999 mustang a good first car for a 16 year old?
I have always loved mustangs, and now that i am fixing to turn 15, i was going to save up for a mustang, then when i turn 16 i was going to go out and buy one. Is this a good car. And does anyone have any UNUSED my coke reward points?

A: As long as its a stock v6 mustang I would say sure. The stock “regular” mustangs are not fast. The v6s can be out ran by your regular family sadan. lol. The bodys are pretty sturdy on them also. They are actually decent sized cars. 1999 not the new ones. If you said a GT, Cobra, steeda, saleen, or a bullit which is a v6 but can out run a v8, and so on. I would say no, its not a good car for a 16…
My first car was a mustang,, I have always had a mustang,, Right now I have a 1998 mustang gt. convertable. I have an obsession with them. I have traveled hours just to see mustang shows subscribe to muscle mustangs, my first job was at road atl. then went to work at Atl. dragway, so I have some experience with them.

Q: What are the differences between the 2009 and 2010 mustang v6s?
My sister just got a used 2009 mustang v6 that has 28k miles on it.
My 2010 mustang v6 has 3k on it.
Hers seems to have more pep..
So what are the differences?

A: No differences except they way they were ordered, they both have the 4.0L v6 with 210 HP, auto or standard. and a premium package with a stiffer suspension and lower 3.73 rear gear for faster getaway..

Q: How much should you offer rundown Mustang Fastback?
I want to buy a Mustang (1966or67) Fastback
Its in okay condition. Nothin wrong with the body work
just might need a paint job.
It has three flatt tires.
Interior looks okay.
Im not shure about the engine though.
How much money should I offer.
What is too much and what is too low?
Yeah I just want to make sure
it runs and give it a good paint job.
I dont want to go all out and get
every single detail. I just want it to be able to run and later I will think about
resoring it all the way.

A: You need to go on Ebay and do a search for 1965-1968 Mustang Fastbacks. Look at the vehicles being offered online there and the bids being made. Alot will have minimum not met icons showing. Save these cars to your watch list and see what they end for. Make sure you only save those that match the condition of your own stang. Take an average of the car sales and you should expect to be able to make at least that much, then deduct an amount for a total you could live with and set it as your minimum price for the auction. That way your get at least what you would part with the car for. Next is make sure you take alot of really good photos of your car to go with a write up for the auction…ensure your write up covers the up sides of your stang…for instance if it has no rust point that out and have photos to back that up. Also don’t hide it may require engine or transmission work…a restorer won’t let that necessarily keep them from buying it if the body and interior is ok. Lastly, make sure you set the auction up to where shipping is on the winning bidder to secure and not yourself. Ebay should get you what your looking for as alot of folks get cars to restore there as certain vintages such as your stang are not just found anywhere on anyday. Good luck.

Q: What year mustang is best? and is a mustang a good car for a 16yr old?
I am 14 and working at publix saving everyday for my car when im 16. I know i want a mustang and am positive that i want a convertible unless i can get a Shelby which i doubt. Which year mustang would be best looking best handling best convertible etc. and is a mustang safe for a 16yr old driver?

A: I bought a 1968 mustang when I was 17 and have had it for two years. If I were you, I would look for a classic with more safety features. My car for example has shoulder seat belts instead of just the lap belt. Also, the later mustangs such as 68,69 and into the 70’s have more safety features such as a collapsible stearing column. If you drive safely you should be ok. The thing about these cars is that it takes a lot of work and you have to be willing to dedicate the time and money to it. Any of the older mustangs can have good handling if you add the right stuff. I would not recommend a mustang without power stearing or breaks. I test drove a 65,66,and a 67 before I bought the 68. The cars without power stearing were much harder to drive. Believe me, there have been times when driving my car that I am thankful for the power stearing. If you have to swerve quickly, it is really good to have the power stearing. The mustang I have had is a good car, the good thing about it is that there is much more room to work on it than the newer cars which require specialized parts and tools. My car basically requires a wrench and a screw driver. The shelby is an awesome car, but extremely hard to find. If you did find one, it would either be really expensive or in really bad shape and barely drivable, and it would still cost a lot. I’m not sure, but I think that every year came out with a convertable model. Just find the one that is most appealing to you, and drive it responsibly than you should be good to go.

Q: How much does it cost to lease a new mustang also how much cash down?
Hey im thinking about leasing a new mustang, im not sure which one yet so If you know for sure how much it costs to lease ANY mustang model or how much cash you need up front for it.

Thanks

A: The cost of a lease will depend on the negotiated selling price on which the lease is based, the number of miles you plan to drive, your down payment, if any, how many months you want to lease, the lease rate (like interest rate), your credit score, the estimated lease-end resale (residual) value.

You’ll need some cash up front: down payment (if any), security deposit (if the lease company requires it – many don’t), tax/tag/title fees, sales tax (only in some state), and the first month’s payment.

If you are not familiar with leasing, you should spend some time learning about it so that you don’t make mistakes that will be very difficult to correct later. Following is a good web site that might help you. It also has a lease payment calculator.

Q: What should i do to make my mustang better?
I have a 1998 Mustang V6 3.8 L. It has 115,000 miles on it. What does everybody suggest i do to make it faster, louder, better looking, and also save gas?? (cold-air intake, Performance chip?)
If you could please leave a good website to look at.

A: if your engine is strong & tight v-6 modifications are plentiful & reasonable, for both sound, power & appearance.

don’t let the gt crowd scare you off, the 3.8 is a fine engine and has a super advantage over the gt, its lighter.

heres an 01 modified to 220 rwhp & with mild boost supercharger it would eat most gt’s for lunch

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2655489

here’s a v-6 that upgraded its exhaust, sounds good, adds probably 15 hp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RATnnJ5R3A

here’s a nasty v-6………supercharged

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnnxQ8i3g0E&feature=related

now listen my present ride is a 2004 cobra (terminator series) its dyno’d at 575 rwhp and my last ride was a heavily modified 2001 gt (plus 320 rwhp)…and they were both great, but my next ride will be either a shelby terlingua (go ahead google it) or highly modified v-6 with race internals and high boost supercharger.
lighter faster and able to boost to about 400rwhp and listen up ford fans rumor has it that for 2010 mustang will intro a twin turbo v-6. i can’t wait.

so my sixer friend , if you have some cash, and your engine is tight there is no problem with a 6.

heres typical installs, exhaust, CAI, supercharger.

cheers from a cobra (and we can both pee in gt’s boots)

Q: how much would it cost to rebuild the front end of a 2010 mustang?
I wanna buy this mustang from a junk yard its a 2010 has 2,000 miles on the engine. It basically needs a new front frame and tires. I talked to the guy and he told me 3 quarters of the front end needs repairing.

A: Without pictures to see the damage, it’d be nearly impossible for anyone to give you an estimate. Chances are there is a whole helluva lot more that needs repaired than what the “guy from the junkyard” said.

Q: How do I get the black coloring on the rear bumper of my Mustang?
I have the 2000 year mustang model and have seen people with them that have a black coloring at the very bottom of the rear bumper below the lettering under those dashes in the bumper. If anyone knows what I’m talking about is there a way to get that coloring without painting it? Like decals or anything?

A: The easiest would be to mask off the top rub down the surface lightly to “key it” and paint with black satin finish spray paint from an auto store. Use several coats, let them dry between applications.

Q: How long for mechanic to fix my mustang?
I got into a accident the other day with my 2008 Mustang GT, I need a whole new rear end and a new pessanger door. The estmate of the damage was about $8,000. My insurance will cover the whole thing, but does anyone know how long it will take before I have my car back?

A: a week…maybe..
